The Beastmaster build in Enshrouded contains a detailed walkthrough of all the components to enjoy the game: weapon choices, attributes, skill selections, gameplay tips, and gear.

Updated January 2025: The Beastmaster build has been updated after Patch 5, Version 0.8.0.0. The significant changes are from Patch 4, which added new skills, max level increased to 35, and many more skill points (max of 146). We are collecting all new gear, weapons, and items. However, the skill selection is updated as you progress to the end game.

Beastmaster Build Guide

The Beastmaster Build in Enshrouded uses multiple skills to tame and use Wild Animals and Vukah in combat. What makes the build special is using the bow for ranged combat and having the unique ability to have companion animals fight alongside you. The Beastmaster build will emphasize range combat with high Dexterity and Endurance. This will give you great damage, mobility, and stamina regeneration.

Before progressing with our Best Enshrouded Beastmaster Build, your character creation will not impact gameplay. There are no racial passives, ability scores, or attributes to consider. Thus, we advise you to select a character whose appearance resonates with you.

Animal Taming

The main feature of the Beastmaster skill and build is when you are targeted by an attack, wild animals within 50 meters will attack the enemy. These features are helpful in the open-world farming chest, completing Elixir Wells, and generating exploration. Additionally, the Vukah creatures, a bear-looking enemy will also be tamed and fight alongside you. These two extra companions make combat easier, unique, and fun.

Just unlock the skills recommended below, and the animals will follow and attack enemies. You can “guard” an NPC, though it doesn’t do anything particularly useful in combat.

Best Beastmaster Attributes & Combat Stats

The most important attribute of the Beast Master build is Dexterity. Dexterity increases your range damage, and this build will rely solely on range combat. The second most important stat is Endurance. This will allow for a larger stamina pool for dodging, sprinting, climbing, gliding, and movement. The Beast Master will not use Water Aura or Battle Heal like many other builds and must play at range using a bow to reduce incoming damage.

Additionally, your Flame Altar level will increase your attribute bonus. This is a priority for improving your Enshrouded Beastmaster build power level. 

Skill Selections

In Enshrouded, you earn skill points from leveling and completing Elixir Wells. We have broken down the skill sections based on level range and listed the best skills to select at every level for this build. While your skill points totals may change depending on your overall level and Elixir Well completions, save up skill points if you cannot afford one at your current level. Below is what our skill points were at various levels in Enshrouded:

• Level 10 – 36 Skill Points
• Level 20 – 72 Skill Points
• Level 25 – 114 Skill Points
• Level 35 – 146 Skill Points

The maximum level in Enshrouded is 35, with some enemies in further regions being level 35. The general skill selections below are specifically geared towards combat performance. We will list and explain the most critical of all the skills. Moreover, look to the utility skill section if you prefer more utility, crafting, and less combat emphasis. Lastly, you can always respec your skill points with Runes at the Flame Altar, so feel free to experiment. However, the selections below are the best overall for combat power and enjoyment for the best Barbarian build in Enshrouded.

Best Beastmaster Skills Explained

• Double Jump – We recommended this straight away because it helps even in combat to jump and avoid attacks.
• Vukah Language & Vukah Culture – These skills allow you to use Vukah in combat and avoid combat with them. This doesn’t work on the bosses, however.
• Calm Spirit & Beast Master – While exploring, you won’t be engaged with wildlife and they will now fight on your side.
• Marksman & Sharpshooter – These skill gives a flat increase to overall ranged damage and are a priority early in Enshrouded.
• Begone! – Use Begone to give you a stun and knockback to avoid melee aggressors. Leave a slot on your bar empty, swap it with a shield, and attack.
• Blink – Blink helps generate that space with a massive teleport.
• Shell Shock + Chain Reaction – Gives your explosive arrows massive area damage and can now use mana to stun targets.

Utility Skills

Below are recommended utility skills for this Beast Master Build, if you wish to sacrifice some combat performance:

• Mason (Core) – The pickaxe deals 30% more damage against stone objects including resource veins.
• Miner (Core) – When you mine resources, you have a 10% chance to get additional resources.
• Lumberjack (Core) – Felling axes do 30% more damage against wooden objects including trees.
• Inner Fires (Survivor) – maximum Shroud time increased by 2 minutes, allowing you to explore for longer.

Beastmaster Gameplay & Tips

The best tip to play the Beast Master build is to start combat in an open area surrounded by Wild Life or Vukah. While not always possible, the range of 50 meters is wide, and the extra help will enable you to finish fighters, avoiding damage. Below are some other gameplay tips when playing the best Beast Master build in Enshrouded game:

• Weapons – Use a ranged short bow or something with a 0.6 draw speed. Moreover, look for any bow that doesn’t consume stamina when shot. You want to find special arrows for your bow by using the Hunter crafter. Shroud arrows are helpful damage over time, stun can control enemies, and exploding are end-game massive damage arrows. Also, equip a Wand and Shield for extra protection when escape isn’t possible.
• Survival – You will need to use a combination of health regeneration food, bandages, and potions for healing. Unlike other builds, you will not have passive healing built in. Thus, relay on playing range with high mobility using Blink and Dodge to escape and punish enemies with bow attacks and special arrows.
• Movement – The most crucial part of playing the Beast Master is keeping a medium 10 to 18-meter range from the enemy. Bows can be aimed down, giving you more headshot damage, but it is only advised when opening an attack or far from the enemy. Once the enemy draws near, zip away with Blink. If you are low on stamina, swap to Shield and Unarmed attack once you unlock the Begone skill. At this point, you can punch an enemy and stun them with mana.

• Commander’s Ring: obtained by killing the Wyvern in the Pike, Northeast on the map. Ring of Rapacity is an alternative located in Willow’s Crush.
• Ring of the Ancients: found in a random chest.

Alternative Gear Sets

If you are not at the end game, use the Hunter Craftsperson to craft gear throughout your journey until the end game. Here’s what we recommend based on your level for the best Beastmaster build in Enshrouded:

• Level 5 (Fur Armor Set) – A basic form of protection. Materials needed to craft are torn cloth, animal fur, string, and metal scraps.
• Level 8 (Scout Set) – First set with ranged damage bonuses. Materials needed to craft are String, Dried Fur, Bones, and Resin.
• Level 13 (Ranger Set) – High damage set emphasizing ranged damage. Materials needed to craft Linen, Dried Fur, Bones, Copper Bar, Charcoal, and Amber.
  • Archer: this set will be found through Revelwood chest none craftable unique. This is also a good armor set.
• Level 18 (Hunter Set) – Upgraded range bow user damage set. Materials needed to craft Fossilized Bone Dust, Leather, Resin, Mint Mushroom Meat, Leather, Resin, Amber, and Linen.
  • Fowler: unique set found in mid-game areas with a chest.
• Level 23 (Deadeye or Deerstalker) – Both sets are balanced for range damage. Materials needed to craft Padding, Yellow Fabric, Scales, Lapislazuli, and Leather.
  • Hawk: unique set found in end-game areas with chest.

Best Beastmaster Consumables

The best Beast Master consumables and food effects for Enshrouded are listed below:

• Stir-Fried Vegetables (Crafted) – +5 to Dexterity. Materials needed to craft are Corncob, Forest Beet, Tomato, Bell Pepper, and Spice.
• Meat Wrap (Crafted) – +5 Constitution, and +1 Intelligence.  Materials needed to craft are Water, Red Mushroom, Raw Sand Digger Meat, and Flour.
• Fruit Bowl (Crafted) – +6 Health regeneration, and +3 Stamina regeneration. Materials needed to craft are Honey, Strawberry, Purple Berries, and Yucca Fruit.
• Spiced Tea (Crafted) – +5 Endurance. Materials needed to craft are Saffron and Water.
• Elixir (Looted) – +30% Damage Multiplier, -1 minute in the shroud. This gives additional damage and stacks with Pray of the Flame Scrolls.

Healing

In addition, make sure to carry berries (blueberries or strawberries) for health regeneration, water for stamina regeneration, and bandages for healing. As you advance, you can unlock the Alchemist and craft healing potions. This will help you early with survival, then optimize for damage with consumables.
