What Skills Should You Use for Hammer?

Burst

The Burst skill is one of the best skills for damage in Monster Hunter Wilds. This skill boosts your attack proportional to the number of hits you land and can be an absolute game-changer, depending on your playstyle. You have to hit five or so successive hits to enable the damage boost. This damage boost increases the more you level up and is considerably high after Level 5. This skill is best paired with faster-paced weapons that allow you to land multiple successive hits during any opening.

Attack Boost

Attack Boost is a simple yet effective skill that adds points to your Attack stat, making you deal more damage. At Level 1, your attack power is increased by +3. Take it up further to Level 2, and it will go up to +5, and then +7 at Level 3. From Level 4 onwards, you get added points in addition to a percentage boost to your attack. This is one of the best pure damage skills in the game and fits in seamlessly with the Hammer.

Charge Master

Taking note that the Hammer offers plenty of opportunities for charged attacks, we recommend picking up the Charge Master skill. This skill increases the elemental power and status buildup for charged attacks, making you a force to be reckoned with. At Level 1, the skill only slightly increases elemental damage and status buildup for charged attacks. Take it all the way up to Level 3, however, and it will greatly increase the elemental damage and status buildup for charged attacks.

Agitator

If the large monsters you face are frequently enraged, then the Agitator skill is the one for you. This skill increases attack power and affinity when large monsters become enraged, allowing you to deal greater damage with the possibility of even greater damage in the form of critical hits.

The skill starts off with +4 to Attack and +3 percent to Affinity at Level 1 but can go all the way up to +20 to Attack and +15 percent to Affinity. This combo of increased damage and chance of critical hits makes the Agitator one of the best.

Blast Attack

The final skill that we recommend using for the Hammer is the Blast Attack skill. This skill increases the rate of Blast buildup. At Level 1, Blast buildup is increased by +5 percent with a bonus of +10. Level 2 sees the Blast buildup increase by +10 percent, with a bonus of +20. Lastly, Level 3 sees the Blast buildup rise by +20 percent with a bonus of +50. This is one of the best skills in the game and one you absolutely need with the Hammer.
