ESO Warden PvP Healer Build
The ESO Warden PvP Healer Build are a well-rounded class in The Elder Scrolls Online, their skills and passives make them one of the strongest healers for any content. Here we will focus on a Warden PvP healer build that offers a ton of healing, survivability, and unique buffs for group play. This build can be played aggressively or defensively while keeping your group and yourself alive with ease, that being said, it is an ideal choice for players of any experience level!

Last Updated March 18th, 2023 for ESO Update 37 Scribes of Fate. Update 37 gave the Warden Healer a mobility tool with Vampire Elusive Mist, and I highly recommend it for this build. In exchange for high mobility, you’ll have weak resource sustain, so we compensated with jewelry enhancements to keep you topped off on resource sustain. Additionally, some new monster helms have been introduced that make the group utility even stronger, and healer builds in PvP have more flexibility than ever. The class is still in a good position to do some great PvP healing in this update and beyond.
How Does the Warden Heal in PvP?
Wardens make great healers in ESO PvP. If the following “pros” are what you are looking for, the build is for you!
Pros | Cons |
Great group buffs | Lacks no aim burst heal |
Good sustain | Class ultimates are lack luster |
High Heals Per Second |
The Best Warden Healer Build and Playstyle
The healing in PvP is different from PvE. Your purpose is to provide support, buffs and healing to you and your group and to be the tankiest player on the battlefield. If you want to survive in ESO PvP, you must keep your buffs and healing over time at all times rolling. As a result, the build provides tools within the gear and skills to help you achieve all your tasks as a healer.
Use the environment to your advantage. Never stay in an open field, exposing yourself to damage makes you easy to target and kill. Hide behind objects to lower the pressure. If they can’t see you, they can’t hit you!
The class has a strong burst heal that requires aiming at a target. Use it and your defensive ultimate as a “panic button”. Hold block and heal! However, remember to hide as soon as possible and refresh the buffs. Burst healing will not keep you or your teammates alive forever. The skill will quickly burn through your magic, leaving you vulnerable.
Try to use both resource pools (stamina and magicka) to sustain. If you run out of resources, do a heavy attack – if done on an off-balance target, it’ll refill twice as many resources.
Lastly, always use suggested food and potions. They will improve your survivability and provide more healing per second to your group. Switch the Mundus Stone and skills in and out until you achieve what works best for you!
Skills
Bar One: Restoration Staff
Budding Seeds (Morph of Healing Seed | Skill line: Green Balance) - Amazing AoE heal, you and your allies within the area are healed when the ability blooms. An ally can activate a synergy that grants healing over time.
Blessing Of Protection (Skill line: Restoration Staff) - This is your burst heal in a massive AoE with armor buff. Other morph is great for more damage output but less bursty. [Flex] Enchanted Growth (morph of Fungal Growth | Warden/Green Balance skill line): Decent AoE heal for you and your allies. Applies Minor Intellect and Minor Endurance to those healed, increasing Magicka and Stamina Recovery. This ability is good to flex in when extra Magicka and Stamina sustain is needed, or other healers in group are using Combat Prayer.
Overflowing Altar (Morph of Blood Altar | Skill line: Undaunted) - Non-mobile but insane HPS when stationary fights are happening.
Energy Orb (Morph of Necrotic Orb | Skill line: Undaunted) - AoE heal that procs synery returning resources.
Radiating Regeneration (Morph of Regeneration | Skill line: Restoration Staff) - Very important multi-targeting heal over time ability for group play, especially for mobile encounters, also helps to proc specific healer sets. Spam ability to cover more targets if needed.
Life Giver (Morph of Panacea | Skill line: Restoration Staff) - Amazing burst heal ultimate that also applies a strong healing over time effect to you or a nearby ally. When casting the ability, Regeneration, Blessing of Protection, and Steadfast Ward are applied at no cost. This ability is great for fights that require mobility. [Flex] Healing Thicket (morph of Secluded Grove | Warden/Green Balance skill line): Another strong burst heal ultimate that also applies a healing over time effect while in the area and while leaving. Very cheap to use ultimate cost, works best in stationary fights like objective defenses.
Bar Two: Ice Staff
Weapon Choices
- Restoration Staff = more flexibility with bar slots BUT you need blocking mitigation typically
- Ice Staff = block mitigation plus not having to cut your weapon trait in half, meaning more healing.
- Sword and Shield = block mitigation and the ability to recover stamina from heavy attacks
Elusive Mist (Morph of Mist Form | Skill line: Vampire) - Helpful mobility skill. It teleports you on a short distance, giving you an extremely powerful tool.
Shimmering Shield (Morph of Crystallized Shield | Skill line: Winters Embrace) - Very strong shield that absorbs a massive amount damage from 3 projectiles. Each time a projectile is absorbed you restore Magicka and gain Major Heroism, increasing sustain and Ultimate regeneration.
Echoing Vigor (Morph of Vigor | Skill line: Assault) - Nice self-heal to you and your group. Id uses stamina helping with the sustain.
Arctic Blast (Morph of Artic Wind | Skill line: Winters Embrace) - Great healing
Expansive Frost Cloak (Morph of Frost Cloak | Skill line: Winters Embrace) - Extra resistance for protection
Permafrost (Morph of Sleet Storm | Skill line: Winters Embrace) - Amazing Ultimate that can be used offensively and defensively. Deals small amount of Frost Damage, mainly used for the snare and Chilled status effect that it applies to enemies in the area. You and nearby allies also gain Major Protection, reducing damage taken by 10%.
Rotation
- #1 priority is to maintain your armor buff, Frost Cloak. Use Shimmering Shield when receiving incoming damage from projectiles and Ultimate regeneration is needed. Damage mitigation is very important when in combat, especially if you are being targeted.
- #2 priority is to maintain healing over time abilities, Rapid Regeneration and Alter. These abilities are very important to ensure your group members are topped off on Health and receive any buffs you apply .
- #3 Use Budding Seeds when fights are grouped up and stationary. This additional healing and synergy is great for your group, especially the debuff that is applied to enemies in the area.
- #4 Use Blessing of Protection as your spammable heal after applying your healing over time abilities. This will provide your group with even more helpful buffs.
- #5 Use Polar Wind as your defensive self-heal when targeted and Race Against Time is used when you need to remove snares or immobilizations from yourself, or if you simply need the a boost to movement speed.
- #6 Lastly your Ultimate is just as important, either is great for offense and defense. Coordinate with your group on using them for pushing into fights, repositioning, or even retreating.
