ESO Templar PvP Healer Build
Welcome to the guide for the ESO Templar PvP Healer Build, the Fulcrum. It’s very beginner-friendly and a great place to start for all new healers. You can get the gear easily, know how to heal and turtle up and play defensive when pressured. This is a great starting point for anyone looking to get into Cyrodiil and has no direction.

Last Updated March 18th, 2023 for ESO Update 37 Scribes of Fate. Update 37 gave the Templar Healer a mobility tool with Vampire Elusive Mist, and I highly recommend it for this build. In exchange for high mobility, you’ll have weak resource sustain, so we compensated with jewelry enhancements to keep you topped off on resource sustain. Additionally, some new monster helms have been introduced that make the group utility even stronger, and healer builds in PvP have more flexibility than ever. The class is still in a good position to do some great PvP healing in this update and beyond.
How Does the Templar Heal in PvP?
Templars make great healers in ESO PvP. If the following “pros” are what you are looking for, the build is for you!
Pros | Cons |
Simple skills layout | Less group utility than Warden or Necromancer |
Easy to obtain gear | Not meant for massive AoE healing |
Great for new players in PvP |
The Best Templar Healer Build and Playstyle
The healing in PvP is different from PvE. Your purpose is to provide support, buffs and healing to you and your group and to be the tankiest player on the battlefield. If you want to survive in ESO PvP, you must keep your buffs and healing over time at all times rolling. As a result, the build provides tools within the gear and skills to help you achieve all your tasks as a healer.
Use the environment to your advantage. Never stay in an open field, exposing yourself to damage makes you easy to target and kill. Hide behind objects to lower the pressure. If they can’t see you, they can’t hit you!
The class has a strong burst heal that requires aiming at a target. Use it and your defensive ultimate as a “panic button”. Hold block and heal! However, remember to hide as soon as possible and refresh the buffs. Burst healing will not keep you or your teammates alive forever. The skill will quickly burn through your magic, leaving you vulnerable.
Try to use both resource pools (stamina and magicka) to sustain. If you run out of resources, do a heavy attack – if done on an off-balance target, it’ll refill twice as many resources.
Lastly, always use suggested food and potions. They will improve your survivability and provide more healing per second to your group. Switch the Mundus Stone and skills in and out until you achieve what works best for you!
Skills
Bar One: Restoration Staff for Healing
Radiating Regeneration (Morph of Regeneration | Skill line: Restoration Staff) - great heal over time that procs various gear sets. Consider this a must to keep at all times.
Purifying Light (Morph of Backlash | Skill line: Dawns Wrath) - procs minor sorcerery, generates ultimate and burst damage along with good healing on target.
Repentance (Morph of Restoring Aura | Skill line: Restoring Light) - allows you to have tons of stamina sustain for blocking. Consider this your flex spot. You can run Inner light for simpler setup. You can run energy orb for another heal and synergy. Another option is Overflowing Altar for burst heal synergy.
Luminous Shards (Morph of Spear Shards | Skill line: Aedric Spear) - provides a unique resources sustain tool and good passives for slotting.
Combat Prayer (Morph of Blessings of Protection | Skill line: Restoration Staff) - Great healing buff since Living Dark is nerfed, I swap this in.
Life Giver (Morph of Panacea | Skill line: Restoration Staff) - insane survivability for you or the group with mobility and low cost.
Bar Two: Sword and Shield for Defensive and burst healing
Weapon Choices
- Restoration Staff = more flexibility with bar slots BUT you need blocking mitigation typically
- Ice Staff = block mitigation plus not having to cut your weapon trait in half, meaning more healing.
- Sword and Shield = block mitigation and the ability to recover stamina from heavy attacks
Channeled Focus (Morph of Rune Focus | Skill line: Restoring Light) - major resistances buff, increase our healing via minor mending and resources sustain.
Blinding Flare (Morph of Revealing Flare | Skill line: Support) - I no longer use Extended Ritual due to an item set Plaguebreak . This gives us 10% damage reduction and is great counter gank.
Elusive Mist (Morph of Mist Form | Skill line: Vampire) - Helpful mobility skill. It teleports you on a short distance, giving you an extremely powerful tool.
Aurora Javelin (Morph of Piercing Javelin | Skill line: Aedric Spear) - single target knockback and stun, used to punt people off of you and great for turtling which can be block casted (holding block and pressing).
Breath Of Life (Morph of Rushed Ceremony | Skill line: Restoring Light) - Insane burst healing for multiple targets.
Solar Prison (Morph of Nova | Skill line: Dawns Wrath) - an insane burst tool with damage reduction and a huge synergy Grav Crush.
Rotation
- #1 priority is to maintain your armor buff via Channeled Focus.
- #2 priority is to maintain heals over time with Radiating Regeneration.
- Now keep Purifying Light up on the primary melee target attacking you and/or what your group is focusing on killing.
- Pre-cast Combat Pray when anticipating pressure or reactively. Also keep this ability in the same key as your Honor the Dead that way you click the same survivability key regardless of bars.
- Use Race Against Time for mobility especially when snared or immobilized and suck up corpses with Repentance to stay topped off on stamina.
- Rely on your Life Giver ultimate for high mobility high healing while you should drop Solar Prison (Nova) on top of you or a group of players for a synergy nuke.
