It’s more than just a place to explore—it serves as a key location for progressing through Expedition 33. Whether you’re seeking fast travel points, hidden weapons, Pictos, boss fights, or NPCs, each part of Old Lumiere requires attention.

Getting To Old Lumiere

After recruiting Monoco, leave through the portal that stands opposite the station. Your path continues northwest. The terrain soon shifts, leading into the streets and ruins of Old Lumiere.

All Boss Fights in Old Lumiere

Renoir’s Gradient Attack ends most of his sequences. (Image via Kepler Interactive | @Zaeld/YouTube)

Required: Renoir

Renoir is part of the main storyline. He has no specific elemental weakness, and the battle hinges on timing. He often fakes his attacks in mid-combo, making early dodging essential. Learn his movement gradually before committing to aggression. His Gradient Attack ends most of his sequences.

If he summons petals, destroy them immediately. Leaving them on the field allows Renoir to recover health later, which extends the fight unnecessarily.

Optional: Chromatic Danseuse

Chromatic Danseuse changes her elemental stance based on the damage you deal. If struck by Fire, she may switch to Ice, reversing her weakness and absorption. Be cautious when parrying with elemental weapons, as you may heal her instead.

Expect fast projectiles early. Their attack rhythm follows a pattern: 1 > 1 > 2 > 2 > 1. Wait for each projectile to solidify before dodging or parrying. During the Gradient Fall move, use a Gradient Counter when she begins to descend.

Rest Points for Fast Travel

Fast travel becomes available through Expedition Flag rest points. You’ll find these checkpoints at important stages in the area:

  • Entrance: Just after entering Old Lumiere.
  • Right Street: Begins during the story from Lune, Sciel, and Monoco’s perspectives.
  • Left Street: Appears when the story shifts to Maelle, Verso, and Noco.
  • Manor Garden: Unlocks as Maelle reaches the Manor.
  • Train Station Ruins: Found after defeating Renoir. Head back to Entrance then go right at the zipline.
