Find out whether it is a good idea to kill Chalier in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Or would it be better to spare it?

After Act 2 of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 ends, you can finally reach a variety of previously inaccessible locations using Esquie’s flight ability. One of these secret locations is the Floating Cemetery, where you’ll come face-to-face with a unique Chalier. While you might have faced similar enemies throughout the game, this Chalier is simply a stronger version of those. And it won’t be hostile to you when you approach it the first time. Instead, it’ll ask you what kind of weapon it should wield. Regardless of whichever option you pick, the Chalier will become hostile to you the next time you come across it.
However, the fight doesn’t automatically end with the Nevron’s death. Instead, you’ll need to decide whether you want to slay it or spare it. We strongly suggest killing the Nevron simply because you get more out of this option than sparing it. In this guide, we’ll explain the consequences of killing and sparing Chalier in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.
Consequences of Killing Chalier in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

After your initial fight with Chalier, the Nevron will ask you to kill it. If you select the “I… understand. Alright. I’ll do as you wish” option, you’ll slay the Nevron. Killing it will reward you with the Auto Powerful Picto. This is a great Picto to have in your repertoire because it applies the Powerful state at the beginning of every battle for the next three turns. This means that whoever equips this Picto or its effect will be able to deal more damage during their first three turns automatically, making subsequent battles shorter.

After the fight, when you speak to Chalier, you can also pick the “Are you sure? Why not find a new purpose?” option when the Nevron asks you to kill him. If you select this, you’ll need to leave the Floating Cemetery region and come back to it. Then, proceed to where Chalier was, and you’ll see that the Nevron didn’t heed your words and killed himself. Near him, you’ll find 11,680 Chroma. However, you won’t be able to get your hands on the Auto Powerful Picto.
While Chroma is useful (being the primary currency in the game), there are plenty of other ways to earn it. The Picto, on the other hand, is something you won’t get from other sources. That’s why we suggest slaying Chalier, especially since the character dies regardless of what you choose.
