Destiny 2 Acasias Dejection Trace Riffle

Destiny 2 Acasia’s Dejection God Roll and How to Get

Welcome to our Destiny 2 Acasia’s Dejection God Roll and How to Get Guide. The Acasia’s Dejection is an Adaptive Frame Trace Rifle that can be obtained as a drop from the Root of Nightmares raid available with the Lightfall Expansion. Like most newer raid weapons, Acasia’s Dejection can be crafted once its Resonant Pattern is unlocked. Trace Rifles are unique special weapons that have better ammo economy than most special weapons. They are primarily used for clearing minor combatants while still being effective, albeit less so, at damaging high health majors and bosses.

Why You Should Get Acasia’s Dejection Trace Rifle?

You should get Acasia’s Dejection Trace Rifle because it is powerful special weapon with an excellent perk pool. Solar weapons pair excellently with solar subclass builds, and Acasia’s Dejectoin is no exception with its ability to roll with the Incandescent perk. It has several unique and interesting perks in its pool allowing for some very powerful combinations. Trace Rifles are great for PvE for clearing minor combatants while also being able to damage bosses well. In PvP, Trace Rifles are powerful, but suffer from lack of ammunition. Here’s our list of why you should get the Acasia’s Dejection Trace Rifle:

  • Powerful, unique perk combinations
  • Easy to use while being effective in PvE
  • Incandescent works extremely well with solar builds
  • Craftable

Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares Loot Table – Full list

Acasia’s Dejection is obtained in the Root of Nightmares raid from the Lightfall Expansion. Specifically it has a chance to drop from the 2nd Encounter, the 3rd Encounter, and the Final Encounter. Once acquired for the first time, it has a chance to drop from the two hidden chest as well. Every drop has a chance to drop with Deepsight Resonance, which can be extracted to unlock the pattern for crafting the weapon. After the final encounter, Nezerac’s Scythe can be interacted with to focus the weapon with Spoils of Conquest provided the weapon has been obtained before and unlocked in collections. Once per week, the first weapon focused this way will have guaranteed Deepsight Resonance.

PvE Acasia’s Dejection God Roll

The following list includes all Destiny 2 Acasia’s Dejection God Roll traits for PvE

BarrelHammer-Forged Rifling
BatteryEnhanced Battery
Perk 1Rewind Rounds
Perk 2Target Lock
Origin TraitHarmonic Resonance
MasterworkRange
ModMinor Spec, Major Spec, Boss Spec

Barrel: Trace Rifles are unique in that they almost always just feel good to fire. They are easy to keep on target in almost all situations. So honestly any barrel perk will work here, but helping damage falloff is always a great option so Hammer-Forged Rifling is a great choice.

Battery: In most PvE activities more rounds (laser beams in this case) is always a great choice. Enhanced battery gets that done easily, but again most options will work here.

Column 3 Perk: The perks are really what make this weapon interesting. Easy choices for the third column include Envious Assassin and Reconstruction, but the most interesting choice, especially when paired with Target Lock in column 4, is Rewind Rounds. This will refill the battery when its empty by a certain amount depending on how many hits we made on our target. Combining this with Target Lock, which improves damage, just synergizes so well.

Column 4 Perk: One could argue there isn’t a single bad perk in column 4. Incandescent is a good choice, but can be acquired on another Trace Rifle. Paracausal Affinity has potential, but needs more testing. The most interesting choice here, especially when combined with Rewind Rounds, is Target Lock. This will allow the weapon to do some crazy damage for an extended period of time.

Origin Trait: No choice here, but this particular origin trait makes this weapon stronger when you use more weapons with the same origin trait.

Masterwork: Like the barrel perks, this choice will eek out some very minor improvements. Overall Range is the best choice, but anything will work.

Mod: Since Trace Rifles are so versatile, use whatever damage Spec mod fits the encounter it is being used for. For boss fights, use Boss Spec. For combatant clearing use Minor Spec, etc.

Conclusion: Acasia’s Dejection has some amazing perk combinations, especially for a Trace Rifle. The Rewind Rounds and Target Lock combo has the potential to be absolutely amazing in PvE. While Trace Rifles are rarely META, they are often flexed in for certain builds, and this one has potential to be the best among them.

PvP Acasia’s Dejection God Roll

The following list includes all Destiny 2 Acasia’s Dejection God Roll traits for PvP

BarrelFull Bore
BatteryProjection Fuse
Perk 1Perpetual Motion
Perk 2High-Impact Reserves
Origin TraitHarmonic Resonance
MasterworkRange
ModTargeting Adjuster

Barrel: Trace Rifles are unique in that they almost always just feel good to fire. They are easy to keep on target in almost all situations. So honestly any barrel perk will work here, but helping damage falloff is always a great option so Full Bore is a great choice.

Battery: In PvP, the most range possible is always the better option on Trace Rifles. This makes Projection Fuse the obvious choice.

Column 3 Perk: Its apparent that this weapon perks were designed with PvE in mind, but that doesn’t mean their aren’t some perks that will work. Of those that do Perpetual Motion is the best of them as its always a good idea to be moving in PvP.

Column 4 Perk: There are a few alright PvP perks in Column 4. Frenzy, Harmony, and Incandescent will all work, but the best option is probably High-Impact Reserves. In PvP, this procs immediately as it starts with very little ammo.

Masterwork: Like the barrel perks, this choice will eek out some very minor improvements. Overall, Range is the best choice, but anything will work.

Mod: In PvP, Targeting Adjuster is never a bad choice. Some weapons do well with Icarus Grip as well if aerial gunplay is the goal.

Conclusion: Trace Rifles can be deadly in PvP, but this Acasia’s Dejection is designed for PvE. Don’t worry about grinding or crafting this one and stick to the PvE roll.
