Destiny 2 Coronach-22 Auto Rifle

This guide has been updated for Episodes Echoes and the Final Shape Expansion.

Welcome to Destiny 2 Coronach-22 God Roll and How to Get Guide! Coronach-22 is a 600 rpm Auto rifle in Destiny 2. Auto rifles are very easy to use and have been good in close to mid-range in both PvE and PvP. Auto rifles are not the best weapon to use in PvP since they take a lot of hits to get a kill and get outperformed by almost all the primary weapon archetypes In PvE however Auto Rifles are very strong they fire quickly and are able to get easy multi-kills against PvE enemies.

Why You Should Get Coronach-22 Auto Rifle?

You should get Coronach-22 Auto Rifle because there are not that many solar primary auto rifles. Solar weapons have great synergy with the Solar Subclass. Having a solar weapon while on a Solar Subclass helps you maintain your buffs like Radiant and Restoration. Here’s our list of why you should get Coronach-22 Auto Rifle:

  • Synergy with the Solar Subclass
  • Easy to use
  • Fast Rate of fire
  • Does not take an Exotic slot
  • Has great PvE perks

Destiny 2 Coronach-22 God Roll traits for PvE

Barrel: Smallbore provides the gun with +7 range and stability. Having a higher range helps increase the damage fall off of the gun which means how far the bullet can travel before it starts to lose damage. Stability helps us control the recoil of this weapon. You could go Hammer-Forged Rifling if you think you can control the recoil of this weapon since it offers +10 range only.

Magazine: Armor-Piecing Rounds do 5% Increased Damage against PvE Combatant Shields and over-penetrate targets. Having a fast rate of fire combined with Armor-Piercing Rounds will help us take care of multiple enemies. The extra damage to shields helps take care of shields that do not match the weapons element.

Column 3 Perk: Here we will use Feeding Frenzy. Weapon Kills grant 1 Stack of Feeding Frenzy for 3.5 seconds, increasing the Reload Speed of the weapon maximum of 5 stacks. Having a high reload will help us chain kills in PvE. When Feeding Frenzy hits max stats you will gain some incredible reload speed.

Column 4 Perk: Incandescent is activated after defeating a target they spread scorch to those nearby. This will help you clear trash mobs in PvE. This perk also has synergy with the ember of ashes fragment from the solar subclass. The synergy increases the scorch stack that the target makes when they blow up.

Masterwork: We want to have a Range masterwork so we get less damage to fall off.

Mod: We will be using Minor Spec which does 7.77% extra damage to red bar enemies.

Conclusion

This gun is very strong against trash mobs. The fact that this gun can be combined with a solar subclass is what makes this weapon shine. Being able to also scorch targets is very rare for auto rifles. If you manage to get this weapon keep it since there are not that many solar auto rifles in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Coronach-22 God Roll traits for PvP

Barrel: Smallbore provides the gun with +7 range and stability. Having a higher range helps increase the damage fall off of the gun. Stability helps us control the recoil of this weapon. You could go Hammer-Forged Rifling if you think you can control the recoil of this weapon since it offers +10 range only.

Magazine: High-Caliber Rounds Will make your target Flinch often. If your target is flinching they will not be able to land headshots on you. Since this gun shoots fast the flinch will be very annoying for your target. High-Caliber Rounds also provide +5 range stat to increase our damage fall off.

Column 3 Perk: Zen Moment does this: Causing damage with this weapon reduces recoil and flinch over time. Since this gun fires fast you will be able to control the recoil with Zen Moment. This will make your gun act like a laser when you get Zen Moment proced.

Column 4 Perk: Our last perk is going to be Cascade Point. Final blows or sustained precision hits with another weapon increase this weapon’s rate of fire for a short duration. If you get a kill with your other weapons this gun goes from 600rpm to 720rpm the damage does not change and since the rate of fire went up the time to kill with this weapon has gone down.

Masterwork: We want to have a Range masterwork so we get less damage fall off.

Mod: For our mod, I recommend Targeting Adjuster so you can land you shots against your target.

Conclusion

Auto rifles have not been great in PvP since they get outgunned by most weapons. Since this gun cannot roll with a range finder you will have to settle with close to mid-range encounters. I still recommend trying this weapon out since cascade point will catch people off guard.
