Why You Should Get Dark Decider?

Stat-wise the Dark Decider is comparable to most other legendary rapid-fire frame autorifles. Having low range and recoil direction, but decent stability and aim assistance, these weapons are all about putting a lot of bullets into a target quickly at close to mid range. While it is beaten stat wise by its brother, the Krait, they do go in different slots meaning you will rarely be choosing one over the other. The real comparison will be between it and the Sweet Sorrow, the other Arc element rapid fire frame.

How to get the Dark Decider God Roll in Destiny 2

To get Dark Decider in Destiny 2, players will need to play in the Iron Banner playlist. Players can earn the weapon by completing matches or by turning in the Iron Banner Engrams earned at each rank up. These Iron Banner Engrams can also be focused at Lord Saladin at the Tower to any specific Iron Banner weapon, provided it has been unlocked in collections. The Iron Banner playlist and Lord Saladin are only available during 3 weeks during each season.

PvE – Dark Decider God Roll

The following list presents Destiny 2 Dark Decider God Roll traits for PvE

BarrelArrowhead Brake
MagazineAppended Mag, Tactical Mag, Flared Magwell
Perk 1Subsistence
Perk 2Voltshot, Golden Tricorn
Origin TraitVeist Stinger
MasterworkStability, Range
ModCounterbalance Stock

For our barrel perk, the best option by far is Arrowhead Brake, as the recoil on rapid-fire frame autorifles is just awful. This will help it a lot and also give us a nice little handling buff as well.

In PvE, when it comes to magazine perks, we are always trying to put more bullets down range, so anything that increases our magazine size, such as Appended Mag or Tactical Mag, work great. Flared Magwell helps with reload speed and stability so it isn’t a horrible choice either. While Extended Mag does increase our magazine size to 59, that’s only 3 more bullets than appended mag and the hit to our reload speed just is not worth it in this instance.

In a similar vein, the best perk by far in Column 3 for PvE is Subsistence. This will keep us from having to reload during firefights too often. Some people like Well-Rounded or Offhand Strike, but I can’t see those working nearly as well as subsistence for the add clear roll this weapon would fill.

For Column 4, Voltshot is the obvious choice, especially if you are rocking an Arc build. Jolting targets is powerful and none of the other perks here quite are as good. That being said, if you are a fan of Golden Tricorn and can get it working, its one of the best perks in the game. You just have to build around it.

For PvE, Veist Stinger is a favorite origin trait for a reason. Not having to waste time on reloading your weapon is always a boon.

For our masterwork, we are probably going to want to go with Stability to help keep our gun on target, especially on controllers. That being said, a Range masterwork would not be a terrible one to get either.

For our mods, I like Counterbalance Stock to make our recoil better. Feel free to flex this out with Minor Spec if you need more damage output.

Overall, rapid-frame autorifles are great PvE weapons, and this is the first of its kind to be able to roll with Voltshot. So it’s a worthy addition to your collection, a solid gun worth going for.

PvP – Dark Decider God Roll

The following list presents Destiny 2 Dark Decider God Roll traits for PvP

BarrelArrowhead Brake, Hammer-Forged Rifling, Smallbore
MagazineAccurized Rounds
Perk 1Dynamic Sway Reduction
Perk 2Rangefinder
Origin TraitSkulking Wolf
MasterworkStability, Range
ModCounterbalance Stock, Targeting Adjuster

For our barrel perk, the best option by far is Arrowhead Brake, as the recoil on rapid-fire frame autorifles is just awful. This will help it a lot and also give us a nice little handling buff as well. For PvP, things that help our range without a cost are also great options, such as Hammer-Forged Rifling and Smallbore.

In PvP, we should always be trying to improve our range. Not only does this improve our damage falloff range, but also our aim assist and bullet magnetism. Accurized rounds is our absolute choice here.

For Column 3, we don’t have any really great options, but Dynamic Sway Reduction can help us stay on target. Some people like Iron Grip, but in my opinion the cost is too great for the benefits.

In Column 4, we have really only one choice and that is Rangefinder. This will increase our target acquisition range just like a base stat boost to range would. You could also do Iron Reach here, but again to me, the benefits don’t outweigh the cost.

You could go with either origin trait, but Skulking Wolf seems better for PvP than Veist Stinger.

For our masterwork, we are probably going to want to go with Stability to help keep our gun on target, especially on controllers. That being said, a Range masterwork would not be a terrible one to get either especially in PvP.

For our mods, again Counterbalance Stock is a huge contender. Targeting adjuster is also a good choice for PvP just to keep your weapon on target.

When it comes to PvP, rapid-fire frame autorifles are a niche choice, but some people love them. Personally, I think this is more of a PvE weapon, but feel free to give it a shot.

Dark Decider God Roll Conclusion

While not in the meta by any means, rapid-fire frame autorifles are a great choice for PvE. The Dark Decider is also the first autorifle to roll with Voltshot allowing for some great synergy with Arc builds. Overall, I think this has the potential to be a useful albeit not meta defining weapon.
