This guide has been updated for Episodes Echoes and the Final Shape Expansion.

Auto Rifles, especially rapid-fire frames, are really strong in PVE, feeling similar to submachine guns while offering a slight range increase should you want to remain further from your enemy. In PVP, they have their usage for being able to fire large amount of rounds without needing to reload and offering a great balanced sustained fire weapon.

Barrel: For the barrel perk, we are going with an arrowhead break. This will give you better recoil direction and an opportunity to land back-to-back shots.

Magazine: Ricochet rounds are the choice for our mag. These give a slight boost in range and stability while giving a passive bonus that the bullets can ricochet around corners, finishing off an enemy that may have just stepped out of your line of sight.

Column 3 Perk: Our third column choice is Rewind Rounds. When your magazine is empty, around half of it will be returned for primary ammo weapons, depending on successful hits.

Column 4 Perk: Paracasual Affinity is a must-have for our final column perk. This new perk from the raid gives a bonus in damage after securing a final blow with a subclass affinity that matches this weapon’s affinity.

Masterwork: Our obvious choice for masterwork is range, as this being a faster firing frame means it has a lower base range, so we will boost that a little.

Mod: For the mod, we are choosing Counterbalance Stock. This, paired with our barrel, gives us 100 recoil directions, which is extremely important to ensure our recoil is as manageable as possible since this is a fast-firing weapon, and we have perks requiring us to land shots.

Magazine: Ricochet rounds are the choice for our mag. These give a slight boost in range and stability while giving a passive bonus that the bullets can ricochet around corners.

Column 3 Perk: We are going with Moving Target. Moving Target gives a boost in your aim assist as well as gives a speed increase while aiming down sights. The standard method of gunfights includes erratically moving to the left and right to make your enemies miss.

Column 4 Perk: We are going with a fantastic perk called Target Lock for our final perk. Continuously hitting a target without missing a shot gives a five-time stacking damage buff, depending on how many mags you hit the target with—giving us a slightly faster time to kill.

Masterwork: Following a similar theme as our magazine, we are going with a range of masterwork. Again, boosting our range on this is super important to allow us to deal the same damage from further away.

Mod: For a mod slot, Counterbalance Stock is a great choice. This, paired with our barrel, gives us 100 recoil directions, which is extremely important to ensure our recoil is as manageable as possible since this is a fast-firing weapon, and we have perks requiring us to land shots.

Root of Nightmares: Loot Table – Full list

Rufus’s Fury is obtained in the Root of Nightmares raid from the Lightfall Expansion. Specifically, it can drop from the 3rd Encounter and the Final Encounter. Once acquired for the first time, it has a chance to drop from the two hidden chests as well. Every drop has a chance to drop with Deepsight Resonance, which can be extracted to unlock the pattern for crafting the weapon. After the final encounter, Nezerac’s Scythe can be interacted with to focus the weapon with Spoils of Conquest, provided the weapon has been obtained before and unlocked in collections. Once per week, the first weapon focused in this way will guarantee deep sight resonance.
