Destiny 2 Rufus’s Fury God Roll and How to Get

Welcome to our Destiny 2 Rufus’s Fury God Roll and How to Get Guide. The Rufus’s Fury is a rapid-fire strand frame auto rifle with some great new perks and subclass synergies.

Auto Rifles, especially rapid-fire frames, are really strong in PVE, feeling similar to submachine guns while offering a slight range increase should you want to remain further from your enemy. In PVP, they have their usage for being able to fire large amount of rounds without needing to reload and offering a great balanced sustained fire weapon.

Rufus’s Fury is obtained in the Root of Nightmares raid from the Lightfall Expansion. Specifically it has a chance to drop from the the 3rd Encounter, and the Final Encounter. Once acquired for the first time, it has a chance to drop from the two hidden chest as well. Every drop has a chance to drop with Deepsight Resonance, which can be extracted to unlock the pattern for crafting the weapon. After the final encounter, Nezerac’s Scythe can be interacted with to focus the weapon with Spoils of Conquest provided the weapon has been obtained before and unlocked in collections. PvE Rufus’s Fury God Roll

The following list includes all Destiny 2 Rufus’s Fury God Roll traits for PvE

BarrelArrowhead Brake
MagazineRicochet Rounds
Perk 1Rewind Rounds
Perk 2Paracausal Affinity
Origin TraitHarmonic Resonance
MasterworkRange
ModCounterbalance Stock

Barrel: For the barrel perk, we are going with arrowhead break. This will give you better recoil direction giving you a better opportunity to land back to back shots. It also gives a small boost in weapon handling allowing you to swap to this weapon quickly.

Magazine: Ricochet rounds are the choice for our mag. These give a slight boost in range and in stability while giving a passive bonus that the bullets can ricochet around corners finishing off an enemy that may have just stepped out of your line of sight.

Column 3 Perk: Our third column choice Rewind Rounds. For primary ammo weapons, when your magazine is empty this will return around half of your magazine depending upon successful hits. This can proc multiple times allowing you to shoot a large amount of bullets before reloading.

Column 4 Perk: For our final column perk, Paracasual Affinity is the must have. This new perk from the raid gives a bonus is damage after securing a final blow with a subclass affinity that matches this weapons affinity. Since this weapon is strand, any kill with stasis or strand energy (darkness affinity) will grant this weapon a moderate boost in damage.

Masterwork: Our obvious choice for masterwork is range as this being a faster firing frame means it has a lower base range so we are going to boost that a little.

Mod: For the mod, we are choosing Counterbalance Stock. This paired with our barrel gives us 100 recoil direction which is extremely important to make sure our recoil is as manageable as possible since this is a fast firing weapon and we have perks that require us to land shots.

Conclusion: Auto Rifles are insanely strong for those that prefer low to mid range battles. Rufus’s Fury is one of the more favored auto rifle archetypes while also having really strong synergistic perks making this a must have pick up for any guardian.

PvP Rufus’s Fury God Roll

Column 3 Perk: We are going with Moving Target. Moving Target gives a boost in your aim assist as well as gives a speed increase while aiming down sights. Since the common method of gunfights include moving to the left and right erratically to make your enemies miss, this perk can give you the edge in any engagement.

Column 4 Perk: For our final perk, we are going with a fantastic perk called Target Lock. Continuously hitting a target without missing a shot gives a five times stacking damage buff depending upon how much of the mag you hit the target with. In PVP, you shouldn’t ever be having to use your entire mag to kill on guardian but this gives a boost in damage as we hit our target giving us a slightly faster time to kill.

Masterwork: Following a similar theme as our magazine, we are going with a range masterwork. Again boosting our range on this is super important to allow us to deal the same damage from further away.

Mod: For mod slot, Counterbalance Stock is a great choice. This paired with our barrel gives us 100 recoil direction which is extremely important to make sure our recoil is as manageable as possible since this is a fast firing weapon and we have perks that require us to land shots.

Conclusion: Auto rifles are in a weird place in PVP meta currently. Their range is encroached by submachine guns and are completely outranged by pulse rifles. However, this is a small range window where they can be incredibly deadly in the right hands and with large mag capacities, they can be great for transferring between targets and giving some forgiveness for missing a few shots.
