Each Destiny 2 season runs roughly three months, so the Season 20 release date will be the same time the next Destiny 2 expansion launches. Let’s take a closer look at all we know and the exact date.
The Bungie team was very evasive about the season 19 name and details. But the veil of secrecy was lifted and the new Destiny 2: The Witch Queen – Season of the Seraph launched on all platforms on December 6th 2022 at 5 p.m. UTC. Every Destiny 2 Guardian is now eager to put their guns to use and fight against the darkness in the continuation of the story known as The Light and Dark saga. But when is the next Destiny 2 Season 20 Release Date?
When is Season 20 Start Date and what to expect?
We don’t have much information on Destiny 2 Season 20 yet, and we will update the website and publish more articles in the future, for now, we can speculate. However, what we know for sure is that Season 20 launches at the exact time as the new Lightfall expansion, on February 28th, 2023. As always we can expect a new story and improvements to existing game features.
In Season 19 Bungie made some balance changes, after introducing the Arc 3.0, Solar 3.0, and Void 3.0 subclass reworks into the game. They explained it’s all long-planned preparation for the new subclass – The Strand – to ensure all subclasses balance against one another. Therefore we can assume the Bungie team will make even more reworks and improvements, in the next season 20 update. So how about Lightfall?
Destiny 2 Lightfall – Release Date
The Lightfall is a new expansion for Bungie’s looter-shooter game that follows the story from the previous DLC, the Witch Queen. This time players will be able to explore the Neptune area called Neomuna. We have little information about the area itself but from the Trailers, it looks like a sizable area that we haven’t seen before. The story will be a continuation of the Dark and Light saga, thus introducing the new sub-class Strand.
The Lightfall will be realised on February 28th, 2023 the expansion is already available to pre-order for all platforms. It will probably launch at 5 p.m. UTC same as the previous expansions. As always, you’ll be able to play the game on PC, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5. So far Bungie is very secretive about their new upcoming, but for now, you can see the official trailer HERE.
Hopefully, we will have more information about season 20 and Lightfall the closer we will approach the release date.
