Tarnished Mettle PvE God Roll

Destiny 2 Tarnished Mettle God Roll

Welcome to Destiny 2 Tarnished Mettle God Roll guide. The weapon is an arc lightweight 200 rpm scout rifle. It was released during Season of Plunder along with other pirate-themed weapons. Scout rifles are commonly used as anti-champion weapons in difficult PVE content like Grandmaster Nightfalls. Like other seasonal weapons, this weapon will not be regularly obtainable after the Lightfall DLC release.

How to Obtain Tarnished Mettle

In order to obtain and craft this weapon, you need the season pass for Season of Plunder and the Witch Queen DLC.You can receive it as a drop completing Plunder seasonal activities or focus it through the seasonal kiosk in the Helm.  The Tarnished Mettle is crafted upon obtaining and completing five deepsight resonance versions of the weapons. There are three upgrades you will need in your seasonal upgrade path to ensure you are farming as efficiently as possible: Focused Weapon Spoils, Double Perk Weapon Spoils, and Hidden Compartment.

Barrel: For the barrel perk, we are going with arrowhead break. This will give you better recoil direction giving you a better opportunity to land back to back shots. It also gives a small boost in weapon handling allowing you to swap to this weapon quickly should you need to stun a champion.

Magazine: With the magazine we are going to improve the weapons reload speed and stability by choosing Flared Magwell. This boost in reload will synergize well with our other perks on the weapon.

Perk 1: In this slot, Demolitionist is the go to choice. This will allow you to get extra grenade energy by getting kills and when you throw your grenade it will refill your magazine.

Part 2: Lastly, Voltshot is the must have choice here. After getting a kill and reloading, it gives the weapon’s next shot the ability to jolt an enemy causing chain lighting. This also has great synergy with the arc subclass making it even stronger with the right build.

Masterwork: For the masterwork, reload is the obvious pick. Since Voltshot requires reloading after a kill it’s important we stack into reload to give the most potential for Voltshot.

Mod: Minor spec in your mod slot gives you increased damage to minor enemies otherwise known as adds (additional units).

Conclusion: Overall, this weapon and specifically scout rifles are fantastic weapons to have in your arsenal. With a balanced perk pool and some very strong perks for PVE, the Tarnished Mettle is a must have for any guardian.

Barrel: For the barrel perk, we are going with arrowhead break. This will give you better recoil direction giving you a better opportunity to land back to back shots. It also gives a small boost in weapon handling allowing you to swap to this weapon quickly should you need to swap to a close range weapon for a kill

Magazine: The magazine choice here is Steady Rounds. Since scout rifles have intrinsically long range we can sacrifice a little range for a better performing gun. Stability also reduces incoming flinch, letting you contest other weapons without getting flinched off your shots.

Perk 1: We are going with Moving Target. Moving Target gives a boost in your aim assist as well as gives a speed increase while aiming down sights. Since the common method of gunfights include moving to the left and right erratically to make your enemies miss, this perk can give you the edge in any engagement.

Perk 2: The obvious choice here is Eye of the Storm since it gives a large boost in accuracy and handling when you get low health. This will give you the best chance to make sure you can land your final shots of a duel securing your kills.

Masterwork: A stability masterwork is a must have. This masterwork combined with our choice for perks gives us the best opportunity to land as many shots as possible by reducing flinch and increasing accuracy.

Mod: Targeting Adjuster is a great choice here. This gives a small boost in your aim assist making your bullets more likely to hit the target.

Conclusion: Scout rifles may not be the strongest weapon in PVP but there are long range maps that scouts rule most engagements. Regardless, this weapon has a few solid perks for PVP so it will still be a contender for any engagement.

The Tarnished Mettle has great base stats giving a fantastic weapon out the gate. With an amazing perk pool, some of them being synergistic with the arc subclass, makes it a must-have weapon for any guardian’s arsenal.
