Why Should You Play Prismatic Warlock in PVE?
PVE Prismatic Warlock is a brand new subclass released in Destiny 2 with the Final Shape expansion. While we don’t know every detail of the subclass available, we are sure this subclass will be one of the strongest things given to our guardians. The Prismatic subclass allows for combining different points of the various subclasses into one powerful subclass. This is going to lead to some interesting and powerful combinations. The object of the subclass is to choose and customize a subclass exactly how you want it to release the most carnage. Find out all the details on how to craft, create, and optimize our Prismatic Warlock PVE Build.

- Grenade: Storm Grenade
- Melee: Arcane Needle

- Fragments: Facet of Dawn, Facet of Purpose, Facet of Dominance, Facet of Balance, Facet of Hope
Abilities
The best abilities for the Prismatic Warlock PVE Build are Storm Grenade, Arcane Needle, and Needlestorm. The Storm Grenade is a grenade that deals massive area-of-effect damage. Also, Arcane Needle gives us three melee charges that unravel any enemy hit. Lastly, Needlestorm gives us a burst damage super capable of destroying any enemy hit.
Needlestorm – Summon a massive hail of Strand needles that turn into Threadlings.
Phoenix Dive – Activating your air move applies cure to yourself
Strafe Glide – The most common jump for a PVE warlock due to its easy of use and strong control
Storm Grenade – Grenade that spawns a lightning storm at its impact location
Arcane Needle – Melee that has three charges and unravels any enemies hit
The most important abilities we use in this build are our Storm Grenade and Arcane Needle. These, when paired with our aspect, will give us constant damage buffs, survivability, and trash mob clearing. Lastly, our Needlestorm super provides us with burst damage super to take out high-health targets or bosses with one skill.
Aspects
The best aspects to use with our Prismatic Warlock PVE Build are Hellion and Feed the Void.
- Hellion: Summons a solar sentry on your shoulder that attacks enemies.
- Feed the Void: Ability kills grant devour
Feed the Void is essential with this build since it provides our main source of survivability by granting us easy access to devour. Lastly, Hellion provides us with a solar buddy to help deal damage to enemies.
Fragments
The best fragments for our Prismatic Warlock PVE Build are the Facet of Dawn, the Facet of Purpose, the Facet of Dominance, the Facet of Balance, and the Facet of Bravery. Since these provide us with damage resistance, damage boost, ability energy, and ability utility.
- Facet of Dawn: Powered melee hits and kills give radiance to us and nearby allies
- Facet of Purpose: Picking up an orb of power grants one survivability buff depending upon the equipped super
- Facet of Dominance: Void grenades weaken targets, arc grenades jolt targets
- Facet of Balance: Rapidly defeating enemies with Light damage gives melee energy. Rapidly defeating enemies with Dark damage gives grenade energy
- Facet of Bravery: Defeating targets with grenades grants volatile rounds to void weapons, and defeating targets with powered melees grants unraveling rounds to strand weapons
Facet of Dawn and Facet of Balance are the most important fragments for our build since they provide a constant damage buff, and ability energy to help us continue our gameplay loop. Facet of Purpose provides us with some additional survivability giving us damage resistance while we are near enemies. Also, Facet of Bravery gives our weapons additional subclass debuffs on enemies. Lastly, Facet of Dominance allows our grenades to jolt giving us additional trash mod clearing.
Weapons
The best weapons for our Prismatic Warlock PVE Build are Quicksilver Storm, Harsh Language, and Apex Predator. Quicksilver Storm is the star of the show as a fantastic auto rifle that can fire powerful grenades by building up charges. For this build, it’s very important to have the catalyst as it makes the weapon strand instead of kinetic which pairs with our fragments better. Also, Harsh Language provides us with a great trash-mob-killing weapon that is capable of clearing out hordes of enemies with a single shot. Lastly, Apex Predator is one of the strongest solar rocket launchers for PVE in the game due to its damage and easy-to-use perks.
Here’s a list of the best weapon loadouts for our Prismatic Warlock PVE Build:
- Kinetic: Quicksilver Storm, Strand Exotic Auto Rifle
- Energy: Harsh Language, Void Grenade Launcher
- Heavy: Apex Predator, Solar Rocket Launcher
Alternatively, you can run any legendary strand weapon in the kinetic slot. However, you should prioritize a weapon that has great strand subclass synergy perks. Your energy weapon can be swapped out for a different void special weapon but we recommend something good for trash clearing. Lastly, our heavy can be swapped out based on content and active weapon surges.
Exotic Armor
The best exotic armor for the Prismatic Warlock PVE build is the new exotic Warlock class item. While we don’t know all the details of this new exotic armor, we do know it will provide us with two exotic perks on one item. Also, we know that the perks are not bound to one class allowing the use of exotic perks that previously only one class had access to. As we learn more about this new exotic, we will update this section with our recommended perk choices for the build.
Armor Stats
The best stats to focus on in our Prismatic Warlock PVE Build are Recovery, Resilience, and Discipline. Since these provide us with survivability, reduce our class ability cooldown, and reduce our grenade cooldown.
- Mobility: 10
- Resilience: 100
- Recovery: 100
- Disciple: 100
- Intellect: 50
- Strength: 50
Armor Mods
The best armor mods for our Prismatic PVE Build are Ashes to Assets, Grenade Kickstart, and Firepower. Since these build into our grenade recharge and super regeneration.

Gameplay Tips
This Prismatic Warlock PVE Build utilizes our regular gameplay loop of melees, grenades, and super to keep enemies at bay. However, one of the massive changes with Prismatic is known as Transcendence. Transcendence is a sudo-super mode of the subclass that is triggered upon filling up a dark and light bar located under your super. Once these are both filled, you can enter Transcendence which gives us boosted melee and grenade recharge rates, boosted weapon damage, and extra resistances. Also, we gain access to a transcendence-specific grenade for Warlock called the Freezing Singularity. This is a grenade charged with both void and stasis and it summons a black hole orbited by a halo of ice. Afterward, the black hole implodes, suppressing and dealing massive area-of-effect damage. Balancing this light and darkness bar and utilizing Transcendence to its height damage will provide the build with unparalleled power.
Our melee and our grenade are quite powerful and fantastic trash mob controllers. Also, our super provides one of the highest burst supers in the game. This makes it capable of dealing massive single-target boss damage while clearing out any trash enemies that are in the vicinity.
