Destiny 2 Void Hunter Solo Build

The Destiny 2 Void Hunter Solo Build is the strongest class in the current sandbox. The amount of damage you can do with volatile explosions is insane. Currently, the Hunter is the best class for Damage and soloing dungeons and lost sectors. This class offers insane AoE damage and survivability.

Last Updated March 2, 2023, for Lightfall Expansion and Season 20, Season of Defiance.  Destiny 2 has gone through a major change with their modding system.  Making mods much easier and simpler to understand but taking some of the old metas and either eliminating them or making them relevantly the same.  For instance, the “well” mods most players have been accustomed to have been completely eliminated and really the only system and combination are based of orbs of power. The mod loadout you see today will change over time as we become accustomed to new and shifting meta in Destiny 2 Lightfall.  This loadout has been tested and works, so check back frequently as we will be updating these builds throughout the season and expansion.

Should you play Void Hunter Solo?

beginner Void Hunter pve and Solo

Void Hunter has a few essential strengths and a unique playstyle, making it incredibly fun to play. If following “Pros” is what you’re looking for, this is the build for you!

Pros

Cons

Invisible Melee ability is mediocre
Debuff enemies Super is hard to land against moving targets
AOE Damage Requires a high Strength build
Tether damage between enemies
Ability Focus
Easy to learn
Very Mobile

Solo Void Hunter Playstyle

For Solo Lost Sectors

Before you go in a lost sector check the modifiers they appear right in front of the lost sector entrance where you check the difficulty you want to attempt. Since you are by yourself, bring all the champion mods and weapons that can match both the shields of the enemy and the elemental modifier. Matching the elemental modifier will buff those weapons. In case you cannot cover all the shields remember Arbalest and Destroy any shield and even though it is an Anti barrier weapon it can still hit hard and kill things quickly. Remember your loadout is locked in this activity so what you bring is what you are going to be using.

For Solo Dungeons

Dungeons are no joke. Yes, you can do them with other players but if you want to get all the triumphs then listen to these tips for Void Hunter Solo.

  • Do the dungeon with other people first to get an idea of what is happening there.
  • Learn the spawn of enemies and what causes them to stop spawning.
  • Attempt A duo run to see if you can handle the Added density.
  • Maximize survivability over the damage it may take you longer to kill the boss but if you are alone no one will save you.

GYRFALCON’S HAUBERK PLAYSTYLE

This Exotic Will absolutely Decimate any trash mob combined with RETROFIT ESCAPADE. Go invisible either by using your smoke bomb or dodge. If you choose your invisible buff through smoke bomb then save that dodge to reload your RETROFIT ESCAPADE in order to maximize damage. Make sure to land headshots with RETROFIT ESCAPADE because Fourth Times the charm will keep feeding ammo directly to the magazine. Target Lock is a new perk this season and it will increase your DPS so long as you Hold that trigger.

Important Artifact Mods:

  • Overload Bow or Overload Auto/SMG: Strand lacks intrinsic way to counter Overload Champions so this will be needed for certain content.
  • Authorized Mods: Void: We will need to use at least one energy weapon so this will allow us to buff them as well.

Abilities

Some abilities, aspects and fragments need to be unlocked before use. In order to do that, Destiny 2 players need to visit Ikora in the Tower and do the related quest or purchase them from her. Lastly, if you bought new aspects and fragments don’t forget to “meditate”. Simply click the “meditate” option on the table next to Ikora.

Void Buffs & Debuffs

Lightfall Expansion saw a revamp of core buffs and debuff for each class.

  • Void Breach (New!)
    • Void Breaches are created by a selection of new and existing Void Fragments, and grant class ability energy on pickup.
  • Echo of Cessation (New!)
    • Finisher final blows create a burst of Void damage that causes nearby enemies to become Volatile. Defeating Volatile targets creates a Void Breach.
  • Echo of Vigilance (New!)
    • Defeating a target when your shields are depleted grants you a temporary Void Overshield.
  • Echo of Domineering
    • Now creates a Void Breach when defeating Suppressed targets, in addition to its original effects.
  • Echo of Harvest
    • Now creates a Void Breach when defeating Weakened targets with precision damage, in addition to its original effects.
  • Echo of Starvation
    • Now grants Devour on picking up a Void Breach, in addition to its original effects.

Shadowshot: Moebius Quiver

Marksman's Dodge

Triple Jump

Vortex Grenade

Snare Bomb
Shadowshot: Moebius Quiver (Super Ability): Tether foes to a Void Anchor, weakening and suppressing them for you and your allies. Fire two volleys of three Void Arrows that seek nearby targets. Shadowshot makes targets volatile and deals increased damage to tethered targets. Defeating tethered targets creates Orbs of Power. This super will allow us to have more uptime on our weapon damage since weapons will always out damage your super in this setup. This super is a 30% debuff to enemies.
Marksman's Dodge (Class Ability): Dodge to perform an evasive maneuver with a steady hand. Dodging automatically reloads your weapon.\nDodge to perform an evasive maneuver with a steady hand. Dodging automatically reloads your weapon. This allows us to reload our weapons on dodge
Triple Jump (Movement Ability): While airborne, sustain your air control with a second or third jump. This really comes down to personal preference, so feel free to flex another jump if you prefer it.
Vortex Grenade (Grenade): A grenade that creates a Vortex that pulls targets inward and continually damages those trapped inside.
Snare Bomb (Melee): Throw a Smoke Bomb, which attaches to surfaces and pings enemy radar. Weakens targets on detonation. We are using this on ourselves to gain invisibility from Trappers Ambush Aspect

Aspects

Stylish Executioner

Vanishing Step
Stylish Executioner: Defeating a weakened, suppressed, or volatile target grants Invisibility and Truesight. After performing a Stylish Execution, your next melee attack while invisible weakens targets.
Vanishing Step: Dodging makes you invisible.

Fragments

Echo of Persistence

Echo of Cessation

Echo of Reprisal

Echo of Starvation
Echo of Persistence: Void buffs applied to you (Invisibility, Overshield, and Devour) have increased duration.
Echo of Cessation: Finisher final blows create a burst of Void damage that causes nearby combatants to become volatile. Defeating volatile targets creates a Void Breach.
Echo of Reprisal: Final blows when surrounded by combatants grant Super energy.
Echo of Starvation: Picking up a Void Breach or an Orb of Power grants Devour.

Stat distribution number goals

  • Mobility – 100 (This is hunter main stat which also lowers your class ability cooldown)
  • Resilience – 80
  • Recovery – 20 -40
  • Discipline – 30 -50
  • Intellect – <50 (higher is fine if you’ve hit other markers)
  • Strength – <50 (higher is fine if you’ve hit other markers)
[caption id="attachment_30844" align="aligncenter" width="486"]Resilience Tier 8 Lightfall Destiny 2 Resilience Tier 8 Lightfall Destiny 2[/caption] Resilience Changes: The resilience stat was heavily nerfed in Lightfall expanse and now only receives 30% damage reduction at 100 stat.  Outside of Titan builds, your goal is tier 8 (80 stats) to get good damage reduction without wasted stats.

Important Mods

Destiny 2 Lightfall Class Mods
Destiny 2 Lightfall Class Mods

Armor Modification Change: these mods will seem foreign to returning players with Lightfall changing the entire system.  The system you build around now is only orbs of power.  You also see an armor charge mechanic and some of the previous mechanics for generating orbs of power and previously used mods.  This system is evolving, and we will continue to make changes as we gain a better understanding of the new mod system. Here’s a list of all the current armor mods.

Artifice Armor Change: provides an extra +3 to whatever stat you want this should help you reach these stat goals.

Artifact Change: The artifact no longer provides mods instead it reduces the costs of some of the mods and provides passives as you level up and unlock them.  Season 20 Artifact.
