When a player reaches Level 60 in Diablo 4, The Pit automatically unlocks from Tier 1 to 20. However, to enter the Pit, players have to collect x3 Artificer’s Stones. These stones can be collected from other endgame activities, e.g., Helltide, World Bosses, Whisper Bounties, and more.

The process of tiering up in the Pit is simple: kill enough enemies within 10 minutes. The Pit has 150 levels of difficulty, so there is so much to do in this activity. Each death in the Pit gives a time penalty. For the first death, 30 seconds are removed, 60 seconds for the second death, and so on. However, if a player clears a tier with plenty of time left, they can unlock up to +5 tiers. Moreover, defeating a boss with 6+ minutes left unlocks +5 tiers. Therefore, try to clear a tier as fast as possible to climb tiers quickly. Reaching a higher tier unlocks new Torment difficulties, and after reaching Tier 65-100, Torment 4 unlocks.
