Spider-Man 2: Release Date
Developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have a global release date of October 20, 2023. Due to timezone differences, however, the actual release day and time for the game in many locations will land on the 19th.

Spider-Man 2 Platforms: Is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 a PlayStation Exclusive?
Yes, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a PlayStation exclusive and will only be released on PlayStation 5 platform. That means it is also exclusive to the next-gen Sony console, so PlayStation 4 owners will be out of luck.
While the game will not initially launch on any other platform, there is a possibility that patient PC gamers may eventually get a chance to play the game on their preferred platform. Both of the previous games, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, were made available on PC through Steam in the later half of 2022. While it is likely that PC fans won’t see this new sequel on Steam any time soon, if they were willing to wait a couple of years their patience may be rewarded.
Spider-Man 2: Story and Setting
As mentioned, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 story and setting is a sequel to two separate but related games: Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Developers have shared that the events of the new game will pick up about 10 months after the story in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales ends. Given that Miles Morales’ story unfolded in late 2020, this means that Spider-Man 2 is set sometime in mid to late 2021.
The game’s tagline, “Be Greater. Together,” strongly suggests that the gameplay will include a lot of teamwork between Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they face off against a host of villains. Confirmed criminals and combatants include Lizard and Karven the Hunter, along with the Venom symbiote, which has taken Peter Parker as its host.

Additionally, this time around, you’ll have the ability to use Web Wings, which give Spider-Man the ability to glide in in-between swings. Whether you’re gracefully gliding between skyscrapers or engaging in heart-pounding chases through the bustling streets, the traversal in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a visceral thrill.
The game’s combat system has also received an overhaul and improvement. Players can expect improved animations, refined controls, and new abilities and gadgets that make battles more fluid and enjoyable. Combat arenas are available, where players can test their skills against a wide array of enemies, and work on perfecting their skills before taking on some of the intense boss battles.
