Unlock the Water Seal in Fields of Mistria by collecting these uncommon items found throughout the Upper Mines.

In Fields of Mistria, the first 20 floors of the Mines are known as the Upper Mines. Once you reach the 20th floor, you will find your path blocked by an arcane Water Seal. Breaking the seal will allow you to progress deeper into the mines by entering the Tide Caverns.
How to Unlock the Water Seal in Fields of Mistria

The Water Seal in the Upper Mines can be broken by initiating the Water Tablet quest and finding four items that spawn within the Upper Mines. Upon reaching the seal, you will interact with a tablet before it, starting the Water Tablet quest.
First, you must visit Eiland by following his icon on the map. After exaggerating your adventure in the mines to him, he will take you to Juniper as she knows the Witchspeak to decipher it. Once you agree to Juniper’s terms, you will discover that the Water Seal can be unlocked by offering the following items to it:
- Ruby x1
- Lantern Moth x1
- Stone Loach x1
- Upper Mines Mushroom x1
Ruby Location in Fields of Mistria

Of all the items you need, rubies should be the easiest to locate. They can be found on any floor in the Upper Mines. Explore the area until you find medium-sized spherical rocks with reddish-pink gems sticking out. Mine the rock with a pickaxe to obtain a ruby.
Lantern Moth Location in Fields of Mistria

Lantern Moths spawn at random throughout the Upper Mines near light sources like torches. To catch a Lantern Moth, you will first need to procure a bug net. The net can be forged on the blacksmith’s anvil using materials gathered from the mine. You can also find Luc in the Inn and complete his Something’s Bugging Me quest to receive a worn net. Equip the net and use it when you find a Lantern Moth near a source of light in the Upper Mines.
Stone Loach Location in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Loach is a variety of fish that can only be found in the Upper Mines. If you don’t have one, buy a worn fishing rod from the Tackle Shop for 500 Tessarae. Next, travel through the floors of the Upper Mines until you find a pool of water.
Stand at the water’s edge and cast a line close to a medium-sized fish shadow. As soon as the fish takes the bait, click the left mouse button or press X on your controller. If you manage to catch multiple Stone Loach, remember that you can donate one to the Museum to help complete its collection.
Upper Mines Mushroom Location in Fields of Mistria

Upper Mines Mushroom may be the rarest item you need to find to unlock the Water Seal. In addition to having low spawn rates, the mushrooms are well camouflaged within the cave surroundings and are tough to spot in the dim light.
To find one, search the ground for a mushroom with a brown top and a thin stem barely visible under the top. They are smaller than most rocks scattered around the floor, and the mushroom top resembles a round and fluffy loaf of bread. Once you locate the mushroom, you can simply pick it up without the need to use any tools.
Can’t Find the Items Needed to Break the Water Seal?

Navigating the mines can be taxing, but spending a day or two in the mines is an effective way to gather valuable resources and all the items to unlock the Water Seal. Pack plenty of food to recover your health and stamina.
Making room in your inventory and spending an entire day in the mines should be enough to net you all the items required to break the Water Seal. If you still have difficulty finding them, try visiting the 11th floor and above, where spawn rates seem higher for many of the required resources.
