Originally an elf who loved animals and believed in peace, the massacre of the Elf Tribe twisted him into a despair-obsessed powerhouse.
Vetto’s unique Beast Magic is so rare that even Julius Novachrono had never seen it before. He has one single mission: to make humans suffer as his people did. He likes to toy with opponents—ripping off legs and crushing others’ throats without breaking a sweat. That’s the kind of terrifying power Vetto brings to Black Clover.
Vetto’s Magic and Abilities in Black Clover
The foundation of Vetto’s power in Black Clover comes from his unique Beast Magic, an attribute so rare that even the Wizard King had never encountered it before. This magic allows Vetto to generate beast-shaped auras that significantly enhance his already impressive physical capabilities. While Rhya specializes in copying magic and Fana excels with fire and healing abilities, Vetto’s role centers on overwhelming physical destruction and inspiring despair in his opponents.
This puts Vetto in Black Clover at a magic power level that exceeds even the kingdom’s strongest defenders. During their first appearance, the Third Eye demonstrates this power gap by simultaneously fighting against multiple Magic Knight Captains. Vetto is even holding his own against Jack the Ripper, a captain known for his ability to cut through any magic.
The camaraderie among the Third Eye members also enhances their effectiveness as a unit. Despite his brutal nature after reincarnation, Vetto shows extreme loyalty to his fellow elves, prioritizing Patolli’s safety above continuing battles. Vetto’s Demon Form and Enhanced Powers

This transformation drastically amplifies his already impressive abilities and grants him access to Demon Beast Magic, a more sinister and powerful variant of his standard magic. The pictorial changes include his hair turning white, his ears becoming pointed, and his overall appearance corresponding to the ancient demon that once bombarded the Clover Kingdom.
In this form, Vetto’s magic energy increases so dramatically that it exceeds even Patolli’s “bottomless magic.” His improved magical abilities allow him to execute feats thought impossible with normal magic, such as regenerating an entire severed arm. The deadly prospect of his attacks also increases exponentially, with a single blow powerful enough to break through multiple walls of the Seabed Temple.
The physical enhancements from this demon form are equally impressive. Vetto gains significantly boosted strength, allowing him to easily break free from Vanessa’s Thread Magic restraints. His endurance becomes so great that he can continue fighting even after being impaled by Asta’s Anti-Magic sword. It was Yami’s intervention that finally led to his defeat.
Notable Battles and Feats of Vetto
Vetto’s power level in Black Clover is best demonstrated through his impressive combat feats and battles throughout the series. In his introduction, he displays enough strength to break Yami’s katana—a weapon wielded by one of the strongest Magic Knight Captains. Later, before attacking the Seabed Temple, Vetto single-handedly defeats 50 Magic Knights in Raque.
The Seabed Temple battle particularly highlights how formidable Vetto in Black Clover truly is. He easily overpowers Gio, the temple’s guardian, and then proceeds to defeat Luck and Magna despite their coordinated attacks and Union Magic. His battle against Noelle is especially noteworthy, as he initially tanks her Sea Dragon’s Roar, losing an arm but responding by activating his demon form and regenerating the lost limb. Throughout this extended confrontation, Vetto maintains the upper hand against multiple Black Bulls until their coordinated strategy and Yami’s intervention finally bring him down.
Years later, after his reincarnation into an artificial body, Vetto demonstrates his power once more by fighting on par with Mereoleona Vermillion, one of the strongest Magic Knights in the entire kingdom. Their battle in the Shadow Palace shows that Vetto possesses incredible combat abilities even in his younger body, with Mereoleona herself expressing admiration for his tremendous speed and power.
Vetto’s Return and Second Reincarnation
Following his defeat at the Seabed Temple, Vetto’s journey in Black Clover takes an unexpected turn. Months after his apparent death, he is reincarnated again—this time into an artificial body created by Sally. This second reincarnation places Vetto back into the story with several notable differences. His new body is only matured to the age of 15 years, giving him a younger appearance with shorter hair and no beard. Despite this younger form, he retains his distinctive markings and pointed ears characteristic of his elven heritage.
Six months after the elves’ attack on the Clover Kingdom, Vetto is shown to be residing in Elysia, a secluded village where he and the other remaining elves protect Licht and Tetia’s descendants. When Vanica Zogratis and her Dark Disciples attack the Heart Kingdom, Vetto in Black Clover demonstrates his evolving role. He appears alongside the other elves to assist the Magic Knights, bringing Noelle and the others back to Elysia for safety. This shift from antagonist to ally transforms him from a being consumed by despair and revenge to one who uses his considerable strength to protect others.
