Villagers are the building block of Minecraft, with whom you can interact on multiple occasions. They are helpful for their trading offers and the jobs they are dedicated to, like a Blacksmith or Librarian.

However, normally, a village doesn’t contain a considerable number of Villagers, making the environment quite lonely. To make it more lively, you can increase the population by breeding Villagers, similar to how it is done with Animals. Here’s a detailed guide on how you can breed Villagers in Minecraft, and all the necessary details that should be noted.

Similar to the breeding animals method, you can easily breed Villagers in Minecraft and use them more efficiently. With the increased numbers. you can provide them with the workbase items to give them new jobs, providing you with further opportunities to upgrade and buy new materials.

First, get them into a closed location, like a barn. Place a fence to stop them from wandering away from the location once they’re inside; refrain from using doors since they can open them and run away. Once the Villagers are secured, you can give them three beds to enable them to breed.

However, the breeding mechanic also depends on their hunger and happiness. You can trade with the Villagers to increase their happiness, represented by the hearts that appear on the top of their heads. Now, when everything is in order, you need to give them food in the location by simply dropping it from your inventory, and they will pick it up.

The food quantity varies. It can be anything from 12 carrots, 12 beetroots, 3 bread, or 12 potatoes. When two Villagers are in proximity, they can pick up the items you have dropped and get right to breeding.

In just a span of a few seconds after the hearts start appearing over them, they will produce an offspring. According to the real-world time, it takes exactly 20 minutes for a Baby Villager to turn into an adult, allowing you to continue the cycle.
