Learn how to complete The Storm quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 including all the main objectives and its best choices.
After shaking hands of allegiance with Captain Zizka at Nebakov Fortress, Lord Otto von Bergow will bring the Prague Militia to the fortress. Alongside the army, you will get to see several familiar faces. Under the command of von Bergow, the army attacks Nebakov fortress. Due to fewer soldiers on Zizka’s side, Godwin decides to surrender, resulting in all the characters getting captured by von Bergow and Istvan. Now, Henry and others have to make a plan to escape from Trosky Castle. In this guide, we will walk you through how to complete The Storm quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

The Storm Quest Overview in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The Storm is a main quest in the storyline that begins automatically after completing the Finger of God quest. As the quest begins, Henry, Zizka, and Godwin will be getting tortured by Istvan. After the interrogation, Katherine will come to the cell, revealing that she is the sister of Zizka. From here, Katherine will reveal that there is a secret tunnel passage that leads out of Trosky Castle. However, before leaving, Katherine tells Henry to find Castle Keys because, without them, you cannot open the gate to the tunnel. Moreover, Henry also has to search for the documents, get his gear back, and deal with Istvan.
After getting out of the castle, Henry has to find Mika so that he can tell him to bring horses. However, the area around the castle will be surrounded by soldiers so you have to be careful while making your way to the rendezvous point.
How to Prepare for The Storm Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
You will not have anything but a dagger when you get the control of Henry. However, it is recommended that you kill the guards silently while making your way to Scribe’s chamber and loot them to have proper weapons and armour. Moreover, there will be some potions and essential items that you can find in the Castle’s Kitchen and Armoury.
However, do not get heavyweight and when you get your items back after taking care of Istvan, you might have to drop the items to be lighter. Keep in mind, that you need agility for this mission so be as light as much as you can to move swiftly.
How to complete The Storm Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
Completing The Storm quest in KCD2 will require players to first find the Castle Keys and the order of Sigismund in the Scribe’s Chamber. The Castle Keys will allow the characters to open the gate to the tunnel that will lead them out of the castle. After that, players will have to find Mika and tell him to get horses at the rendezvous point. Once done, they will have to reach the rendezvous point without alerting the patrols.
Here are all the main objectives that you will get to pursue during The Storm quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
1. Search for the orders in the Scribe’s Chambers
Once you gain control of Henry, go to the room on the left and head up the staircase to reach the Kitchen. Pick up the Strong Marigold Decoction from the table beside the next staircase and use it to slowly replenish your health. Now, before heading further up, go to the door in front of the staircase from where you came up. You will see a guard sitting on a chair. Stealthily kill the guard and loot its armour. Now, open the next door to go into the armoury. You can find various weapons, a few potions, ammo for bow, lockpicks, and a couple of kits.
After looting the necessary items, go back into the kitchen and head up the staircase. Continue ahead and open the door on the right. Head further up and take out the guard silently. Now, head along the pathway until a cutscene begins. After the cutscene, go to the right side of the pathway and wait for the guard to go away. Now, follow the path to get to the tower and open the door in front.
Go up the staircase and you will see two guards sitting on the table. Wait for one of the guards to go away and then kill the other one. Continue heading up and make your way to the Scribe room. Check all the cabinets in the room and interact with the shelf next to the entrance door. Unfortunately, the orders will not be in the Scribe’s Chambers.
2. Kill Istvan
Leave the Scribe’s chambers and continue heading up until you reach Istvan’s chambers. Before heading up to his room, go into the Alchemy to pick up a bandage and Painkiller Brew potion. Now, head up the stairs to watch a cutscene. Go through the dialogues with Istvan and you will get the option to either kill Istvan dishonorably or give him a chance for a fair fight.
However, both of these options do not have any significant reward, instead, you will only make the encounter hard for yourself by giving Istvan a fair fight. We personally chose the dishonor option because we knew that we could not stand against Istvan due to low-end gear and fewer resources. He will only hit Henry a couple of times and it will be enough for us. So, to stay on the safe side, we killed Istvan dishonorably and got Radzig Kobyla’s Longsword.
3. Search for the orders in Istvan’s Chambers and Get back your confiscated items
After dealing with Istvan, head up the stairs and search the room for the orders. Interact with the chest in the room to get all of your items including Godwin’s items, Zizka’s items, and the Castle Keys. However, the orders will still not be here.
NOTE: You will most likely be heavy at this point. Drop all of the items that you have before and only keep the items you need for the quest. Just keep your weapons, armour, and potions. The rest of the items you can drop so that you don’t get slow.
Search for King Sigismund’s orders in von Bergow’s chamber in Maiden
Now, head back to the maiden along the same path that you took to reach the tower. Once there, go into von Bergow’s chamber and you can find the orders in a chest. While we were in von Bergow’s chamber, we saw Godwin coming into the chamber and finding the orders on his own. After that, speak to Godwin and tell him that you have everything and are ready to leave.
Follow Godwin to the Passageway
Follow Godwin back to the prison area and head to the door on the left side. Go down the staircase and into the tunnel to regroup with Zizka and Katherine. Go through the dialogues with them to give them their items and you will get a torch. Equip the torch to see in the tunnel clearly.
Accompany Zizka, Godwin, and Katherine
Keep walking behind Zizka, Katherine, and Godwin until you reach the end of the tunnel. A cutscene will begin where the characters will read Sigismund’s orders.
Meet Mika in the abandoned Camp
After getting out of the castle, go to the right side and go up the hill. Continue straight to discover Apollonia. I recommend you do a manual save at this point. Continue straight and you will see a couple of paths going below. Stick to the left side and make sure you are crouched. Stay close to the wall and make your way down. You do not have to worry about the two soldiers on the hill, just stick close to the wall and they will not see you. As you reach down, you will see Mika tied at a camp. Let the soldier walk away from Mika. After that, go behind Mika and untie him. He will tell you to meet the others further south of the woods.
Go south to the double rock with the broken cart
Now, this part right here is difficult as there are numerous soldiers patrolling every inch of the woods. The path that we took that got us safely to the broken cart without alerting anyone is as follows.
- Go south to reach the double rock and there will be a guard standing on the right side.
- Eliminate the guard silently and quickly run down the hill and hug the wall. DO NOT go from above as there are more lookouts that way.
- Slowly make your way ahead until you reach a turn ahead.
- Head up the path, hug the wall on the left side, and wait for the patrols to move away.
- Once the guards have gone, continue straight to reach the cart.
If you reach the cart without alerting anyone, the game will be saved.
Go uphill between the rocks
You need to go up on the hill from the path on the left, where the broken wagon is. Keep heading up until you reach a fork. From here, turn left and continue straight on the path to come across a guard ahead.
Continue south until the edge of Apollonia
Go past the guard and head down on the path and instead of going straight through the woods, turn right and go up the hill. Now, you just need to run outside of the woods and make your way to the marked location on the map. The inner woods path is very difficult so we just went around the woods and there was not a single guard patrolling.
As you get close to the rendezvous point, a cutscene will begin. It is a long cutscene and contains crucial information regarding the story. Henry, Katherine, and Zizka will make their way to Kuttenberg during the cutscene. As the cutscene ends, The Storm quest will conclude.
Best tips and tricks to beat the Storm Quest
Here are some of the best tips and tricks that can help you complete the Storm quest easily in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
- Take out the guard silently outside the armoury and steal its armour.
- Head inside the armoury to get a proper weapon, a couple of potions, and kits.
- Pick up the Strong Marigold Decoction from the kitchen and consume it to replenish your health.
- Silently make your way to the scribe’s chamber without alerting anyone.
- Take your gear back and manage the weight-carrying capacity accordingly. Drop anything that you do not need or that is keeping you heavy.
- Once you are out of the castle, go to a safe place from the searching patrols and manually save your game. This way, you don’t have to worry about them every time you fail.
- Let the guard beside Mika go away. Do not kill the guard.
- Make your way to the broken cart from under the hill, instead of taking a narrow path in the middle.
- After going up from the cart, go further out and make your way to the rendezvous point outside of the area.
Rewards for completing The Storm Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The main reward for completing The Storm quest is that you will get access to the second region of the game, Kuttenberg. Moreover, during The Storm quest, you will get Henry’s Father’s sword back from Istvan. It is a two-handed Longsword and it is one of the best swords in the game.

What is the best method to Kill Istvan during The Storm quest in KCD2?
Istvan is a tougher opponent and has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. He can easily defeat in a couple of strikes, due to the low-rarity armour that you loot from the guards in the castle. If you want to be done with Istvan, I recommend you just eliminate dishonorably. You will still get Radzig Kobyla’s Longsword by defeating Istvan dishonorably.
Where to Find Mika during The Storm quest in KCD2?
Mika will be held captive at an abandoned camp in Apollonia. As you get to Apolloia, stick to the left side and head down the hill. Stay close to the wall to avoid getting seen by the guards. Upon finding Mika, wait for the guard to leave the camp and then untie Mika to speak with him.
How to reach the edge of Apollonia during The Storm quest in KCD2?
The best way to reach the edge of Apollonia without any trouble is to go around the woods from the west side. Get out of the woods after going uphill from the broken wagon and make your way toward the rendezvous point.
