Baldur’s Gate 3’s companion quests expand upon the backstories of your companions while simultaneously fleshing out the Forgotten Lands. The Blade of Frontiers quest is a companion quest for Wyll that spans the duration of the entire game and has you completing several objectives along the game’s three acts. As you progress along with his quest in the game, you are confronted by Mizora in Act 2 at the camp. Here, she will ask you to rescue Zariel’s Asset from Moonrise Towers. What this asset is or where it can be found remains a mystery.

In this guide, we shall go over how to find Zariel’s asset in Baldur’s Gate 3, alongside the possible outcomes of the quest objective once you find the asset.

Where to Find Zariel’s Asset

Mizora informs you that Zariel’s asset lies in the Moonrise Towers. This asset lies in the Mind Flayer Colony under the towers. This area can be accessed after your encounter with Ketheric Storm in Act 2 of the game. Defeat Ketheric Storm and he will flee deeper into the confines of the tower.

Follow the path that opens up below and you will enter the Mind Flayer Colony. You cannot fast-travel once in this area, so we recommend stocking up on healing items for the journey. The path through the colony is pretty straightforward. Red lights reflecting off the pods illuminate the way forward. As you progress through the colony, make your way past the Tadpoling Centre (you rescue Zevlor here).

Right past the center, on the left, you will come across a Mind Flayer Pod. Look closely and you will notice that the pod holds Mizora. She is Zariel’s asset. Mizora will greet you with contempt, mocking you for taking so long. She will then command you to get her out of the pod.

Rescue Mizora

The Mind Flayer pod holding Mizora has a control panel at the bottom. The controls work to your tadpole’s command. After examining the controls closely, you will learn that the button on the left corresponds to ‘Annihilate,’ whereas the button on the right is for ‘Unleash.’ At this point, you can pick from any of the following options:

  • [STRENGTH] – Your character will break through the pod and let Mizora free.
  • Unleash – This will open the pod and Mizora will walk free.
  • Annihilate – The pod will kill Mizora.

Letting Mizora walk free will let you progress ahead in Wyll’s companion quest. Mizora will release Wyll from his contract. She will, however, do so only after six months as per their agreement. However, if you choose to kill Mizora, Wyll will be dragged to hell and will die. This will bring his companion quest to an abrupt end.
