How to get Deep Delver in BG3?
Deep Delver weapon is only achievable by defeating the Elder Brithvar who is the leader of a group of Duergar mercenaries. True Soul Nere hired this mercenary group and you can find Elder Brithvar in Grymforge within the Underdark. The exact location where you can encounter Elder Brithvar in Grymforge is at X: -631 Y: 326.
NOTE: You will have to travel to Grymforge at any point in Act 1 of the story before reaching the Point of No Return. Otherwise, you will not be able to get the Deep Delver weapon.
Choose to Fight Elder Brithvar at Grymforge
Grymforge is one of the locations in the Underdark which you can reach by sailing the boat from the beach docks. Once there, you will witness the Duergar mercenaries commanding and torturing the Deep Gnomes. Here, you will get the choice to either help Duergar mercenaries or stand with Deep Gnomes and fight the Duergar mercenaries. To get yourself the Deep Delver, you must stand with Deep Gnomes and fight the Duergar mercenaries.
After initiating the fight, defeat the mercenaries and Elder Brithvar in the area to gain victory. However, be careful of positioning your characters near the edges during the fight as the enemies can shove your characters down into the lava which can result in death. Once you have achieved the victory, loot the dead bodies for goods, especially Elder Brithvar’s body to get the Deep Delver weapon.
How to use Deep Delver in BG3?
Utilizing the Deep Delver weapon efficiently in combat revolves around getting a successful hit on a target. As you land the hit on a target, the weapon’s special bonus, Dig Deep becomes available for the next strike to inflict the Shattered effect on the target. Launching the next attack on the same target with Deep Delver will inflict the Shattered effect, resulting in extra 1d4 Piercing damage on the target. With base damage of up to 8 Piercing damage, you will be able to deal up to a total of 12 Piercing damage with every next attack.
Moreover, with the Martial Melee proficiency, your character will get its three actions through which you can inflict three different types of effects on enemies. A few of the best classes that you can utilize with the Deep Delver weapon are Fighter, Cleric, and Valour Bard. The Fighter is an excellent choice for the Deep Delver weapon as it can dish out the maximum damage with this weapon due to its increased number of attacks per action on higher levels.
