The Defender Greataxe can boost your armour and saving throws, and you can purchase in Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).
Defender Greataxe
In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Defender Greataxe is a two-handed weapon that you can use to boost your armour and defense. The Defensive Attack bonus allows to you choose if you would like to reduce the weapon’s enchantment by 1. In exchange, your Armour Class and Saving Throw bonus will increase by 1. The Defender Greataxe already has a Weapon Enchantment of +2. Therefore, it will still have some additional enchantment if you choose to make this sacrifice.
While the Defener Greataxe isn’t the best weapon you can pick up during Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3, it can make a good defensive weapon for a build that’s struggling with survivability.

How to Get Defender Greataxe in Baldur’s Gate 3
To get the Defender Greataxe in Baldur’s Gate 3 you need to find the Last Light Inn within the Shadow-Cursed Lands during Act 2 and purchase the weapon from Quartermaster Talli. The Last Light Inn is located in the northern portion of the map. The first time you arrive you’ll need to convince Jaheira and the other Harpers that you are not a threat. After you’ve accomplished that, then you’ll find Quartermaster Talli immediately to the left/west of the entrance. She’ll be underneath a tent/canopy like structure and have a lot of different wares for sale.
Additionally, if for some reason you don’t want to (or can’t) purchase the axe at first, make sure not to put it off for too long. Story events, if played out a certain way, can bring disaster to the Last Light Inn and Talli. Moreover, much later in Act 2, Talli and the Harpers may accompany you as you go on the attack. Make sure to buy whatever you want from her before this point because she and the other Harper NPCs have the potential to be killed in the fight and lost for good.
