Hat of Fire Acuity

In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Hat of Fire Acuity is a decent headpiece for spellcasters who do a lot of Fire damage. The main perk on this hat is called Fire Acuity. This grants the wearer two turns of Arcane Acuity whenever they deal Fire damage to an enemy.

Arcane Acuity is a condition in Baldur’s Gate 3 which gives the affected entity has a +1 bonus to its spell Attack rolls and spell save DC for each remaining turn. Additionally, the condition has a maximum duration of 10 turns. However, each time the affected entity takes damage, the number of turns for Arcane Acuity is reduced by two.

Therefore, this hat can be tricky to take advantage of because if you throw a Fire Bolt at an enemy you will get two turns of Arcane Acuity. However, if your spellcaster takes damage shortly thereafter the condition will be removed. The most effective way to use the Hat of Fire Acuity would be with the Fireball spell. The more enemies you can hit in one turn, the better. If you can hit up to five enemies with one cast, your spellcaster will have the maximum ten turns of Arcane Acuity.
