In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Spiderstep Boots are generally not a useful component to any builds. However they have a very specific application when taking on the Phase Spider Matriarch boss in the Whispering Depths. Taking on this beast in the early game can be challenging, but worth it for the Poisoner’s Robe you can get as loot.
The Spider Step grants you immunity to being Enwebbed and prevents web surfaces from affecting your movement speed. Additionally, you will find the Phase Spider Matriarch boss up on webs suspended between three rocky pillars. Having at least one character who can move freely on the web pathways can provide significant assistance. We highly recommended that you equip these boots on your strongest damage-dealing melee character.

How to Get Spiderstep Boots in Baldur’s Gate 3
In order to get the Spiderstep Boots in Baldur’s Gate 3 you need to find your way into the Whispering Depths through the Well in the Blighted Village. There will be a very low difficulty check when you interact with the well, that you should hopefully easily pass. Choose to climb to the bottom and you will be inside the cavernous Whispering Depths area.
There are several smaller spiders and enemies here. However, if you head around the curve of the cave to the left, you should first walk all the way south into an area that was once an Arachnomancer’s lab. There’s tables and random items everywhere, but you’re looking for a dark Heavy Chest that’s all the way back against the far south wall.
The heavy chest is not locked and it will be easy to open and find the Spiderstep Boots in Baldur’s Gate 3!
