With extra ability points, you can boost your Dexterity for a better Armor Class (AC) or increase your Constitution for more hit points and overall survivability, whatever your character needs.
At level 4, you get to choose a feat when you level up as a Wizard, so if you take an ability improvement of +1 to intelligence, you will now, with the Warped Headband of Intellect, have 18 intelligence. A remaining feat point you can spend however you want to raise another ability to an even number. This is because your attack rolls increase only on even numbers. So, having 16 Intelligence is the same as having 17. This will boost your survivability and damage output early on.

To get the Warped Headband of Intellect in Baldur’s Gate 3 during Act 1, you need to kill ogres in one of the Blighted Village buildings.

- Progress until you reach Act 1
- Head North to the Emerald Grove
- Head West to Blighted Village
- Enter the house where three ogres are standing (X: -3 Y: 378)
- Kill ogres
- Loot the Warped Headband of Intellect from Lump The Enlightened dead body.
Head north from the beach where you landed after the prologue to get to the Blighted Village. Your destination is located in the center of the Act 1 area. First, you’ll encounter the Emerald Grove. To reach the Blighted Village, you must pass a bridge that lies to the west of the Druid’s settlement. However, be prepared for what lies ahead as goblins overtake the Blighted Village. You must either kill them or persuade them you are also one of the absolute worshipers.
Lump The Enlightened has the Warped Headband of Intellect, and you must kill him and other ogres to get it. The building is located in a south-west building in the Blighted Village. The fight may be challenging, depending on your level. Once you deal with the ogres, you can loot the Warped Headband of Intellect from Lump The Enlightened dead body.
There is another solution to this quest. You can persuade them to work for you if you have high charisma or are half-orc. However, this solution will not reward you with the circlet, instead, the ogres will give you a horn to summon them when you need help.
