Indiana Jones and the Great Circle puts you right in Indy’s shoes and lets you live out the adventure of a lifetime. The game routinely puts you in the situations you’d expect Indy to be in, such as in fistfights with fascists or solving a tricky puzzle. The latter, the game does often, especially in its first big area of the Vatican.

As the game’s story sees you searching for Sister Catherine in the Sistine Chapel, you stumble across a curious safe that requires a code to open. The game gives you very few hints about the solution, and lots of players may be left feeling lost. In this Indiana Jones and the Great Circle guide, we shall go over the Sistine Chapel safe code puzzle.

How To Solve the Sistine Chapel Safe Code Puzzle

The Sistine Chapel safe is a standard safe that requires a combination code to open. A note in the room, Nicoletti’s letter, gives you a hint as to how to go about solving the puzzle. “While tending to the Casina, I noticed a loose stone. Underneath was an old box containing an original copy of the Secretum Secretorum, made for the Portuguese queen in the 12th century. I’ve left a note inside for you and locked it in the safe for now. If you’ve forgotten the combination again, look to the stars and the saints: Peter with the key, then Paul with the sword,” the letter reads.

The Saint Statues

The letter hints at looking to the stars and saints and mentions Peter and Paul. There are statues around the room, one of which is the statue of Saint Paul. This statue, as the letter suggested, holds a sword. Inspect the statue and look under its base to find two symbols. In the opposite corner of the room, you will find the statue of Saint Peter, holding the key as the letter suggested. Inspect the statue’s base to find the other set of symbols.

Next, head to the desk at the center of the room and open its drawer to find the Planetary Chart. The Planetary Chart note goes into detail as to what number each symbol corresponds to. The Peter Statue’s numbers correspond to (4,4), while the Paul statue corresponds to (7,1). As per the Nicoletti’s letter, the code should then be 4471. Enter the code to open the safe.
