The Monster Hunter has always featured some really whacky and unique cosmetics, that are separate from the ones you can craft by hunting monsters. Monster Hunter Wilds is no different to this rule, featuring plenty of amazing-looking Layered Armor sets. However, some of these cosmetic options are locked behind the game’s DLC Pass, which is something Capcom has been experimenting with since Monster Hunter World. The aptly named “Cosmetics DLC Pass” comes with not only new (and unique) Layered Armor for the Hunter and the Palico but also customization items for the Seikret. In addition to that, the DLC Pass also includes things like Pop-up Camp decorations, Pendants, and new BGMs.

However, given its quite high asking price, is the Cosmetics DLC Pass really worth it? Here’s everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Wilds’ Cosmetics DLC Pass, and whether it’s worth buying, or not.

What Is Included in Monster Hunter Wilds Cosmetics DLC Pass?

The Cosmetics DLC Pass is priced at $50 and comes with 3 key components – Deluxe Pack, Cosmetics DLC Pack 1, and Cosmetics DLC Pack 2. As of writing this article, Capcom has released both the Deluxe Pack and the Cosmetics DLC Pack 1. The Deluxe Pack was released alongside the base game on its official launch date. Whereas, the Cosmetics DLC Pack 1 was released rather recently with the Title Update 1. As for the Cosmetics DLC Pack 2, it’s scheduled to be released alongside Title Update 2, during the Summer of this year. Furthermore, the Cosmetics DLC Packs, as well as the Deluxe Pack, can also be bought separately.

That being said, here’s a look at all the components of the Cosmetics DLC Pass:

For the $50 price, the Cosmetics DLC Pass is an incredibly hard sell, even if you’re a fan of the Monster Hunter series. While the DLC offers some stellar Layered Armor sets, as well as Seikret customization options, it’s still way too overpriced. Furthermore, the DLC doesn’t come with all the bonus cosmetics that will be released as part of Monster Hunter Wilds’ post-launch. As such, unless you’ve already purchased the Premium Deluxe Edition, it’s best to avoid getting the DLC Pass. Instead, you can just purchase the Layered Armor DLCs separately.
