Finding the Axe in Axe from the Lake Side Quest
The Axe from the Lake Side Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 begins when you speak with a local storyteller, Zdenyek the Mouth, in Tachov. He tells a story about the two brothers who procured the axe after defeating a water monster. In this story, one brother tragically drowned and was buried with the axe near the Rocktower Pond.
Location of the Axe
Before starting your hunt for the axe, carry a shovel to dig up the grave. You have to explore a vast area, so stick to the details narrated by Zdenyek. Zoom in on the map of Tachov, and you can head directly to the Rocktower Pond and follow the path north of the pond. If you encounter a large oak tree, you’re on the right track.
Head further up, and you will see a big rock. Continue your journey to the hilltop, and you will find the grave, as mentioned in the story. Use the shovel to dig, and you will find an axe, a shield, a silver ring, and some marigolds. You can also earn some Groschen by selling the ring.
Fixing the Axe
The mission doesn’t end here. You’ll need to repair the axe. To do so, go to the Blacksmith and buy some fastening material from him. After sharpening the edges, you will have the adorned axe. This upgraded axe is far more effective and powerful than the original one. To wrap up the mission, go to Zdenyek and show him the forged axe.
