Players who are just starting a new journey might be looking for some good items to carry them through this grueling medieval adventure. You will be happy to know that there are a ton of good items you can get during the early game.

This is one of the best early-game shields you can acquire in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This shield can be found at an ambush site southeast of Semine. There is a relatively large clearing noticeable on the map.

Investigating this area will net you a Von Bergow Knight Shield. Additionally, you will also get a Field Crossbow (with some arrows) alongside a War Hammer. These are all excellent weapons for the early game. On top of this, you can also sell the horse present at the location for some extra gold.

Skalitz Axe

This is one of the easiest items to get in the early game. You will get the Skalitz Axe in Troskowitz. This needs no extra steps to acquire. Moreover, most of the early-game combat is based on swords. Therefore, if you struggle to use swords well, consider getting this axe to chop your enemies.

Legendary Brunswick’s Armor

This armor is the bonus you can acquire for pre-ordering Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. However, there are some steps in between to get this item.

Firstly, you must have access to the Lion’s Crest DLC quest. You can get this via the Gold Edition of the game or by pre-ordering any version. Completing the quest will reward you with this legendary armor set and some other rewards. Additionally, this is one of the most defensive armors in the early game. It will let you survive better in direct confrontations until you get better with the combat mechanics.

However, this armor is not very viable for stealth, so make sure to take it off before attempting anything sneaky. Moreover, do note that this quest can be quite long, so start this quest once you’re prepared to tackle any obstacles.

Basiliard

This is one of the best short swords you can get in the early game of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Moreover, the process to acquire it is also quite simple. You can buy this item from Blacksmith Radovan in Tachov for 200 groshen.

So, if you have the money to spare and are looking for a good weapon, this should be your pick. This weapon will remain viable as a good short sword for quite a while.

Broadsword

Finish Mutt’s quest to reunite with your loyal dog and get a broadsword. Mutt will be the most important reward you get from this quest. However, if you want a broadsword, you can get this one in the Wolves’ Den. This quest can also be a bit lengthy, so make sure you’re somewhat prepared beforehand to deal with some wolves.
