While roaming the beautiful lands of Medieval Bohemia in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, players will run into some shepherds and have to do some tasks for them. Among those tasks, Henry will have to find lost sheep, fight with wolves and vagrants, and even go on a Werewolf Hunt. The Carrot On A Stick quest is also part of the Shepherd side missions. The shepherd Stanislav will ask you to go and find his lost ram. You will have to do some escorting while fighting many enemies in this mission.

So by the end of it, you will either love or hate the ram. Let’s go take a detailed look at Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s Carrot On A Stick quest.

How To Complete Carrot on a Stick Mission in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

The Starting Point (Image via Deep Silver, Plaion)

First, to unlock the Carrot On A Stick mission, you will need to complete the Sheep Among Wolves quest. Yes, there are a lot of wolves and sheep in this series of side quests.

To start the quest, head east of Troskowitz and find the shepherd Stanislav. He will be in his camp. Speak to him, and he will tell you that he is going through a hard time because his new ram keeps going missing. If you agree to help the poor man, you will have to find and escort the ram back through a forest full of wolves. But don’t worry, the ram is not too far from the camp. Stanislav won’t be able to come with you, but he will give you a carrot to help lure the ram back to him.

Fight Off the Wolves

The map above shows the location of the ram. But be careful because you will be attacked by many wolves along the way, and it can be frustrating to deal with. But if you have completed the other shepherds’ quests, you will know that getting ambushed by predators is inevitable in these quests. So there is no way out of it. Mutt can help you out quite a lot in this mission, but we highly recommend that players invest in the Houndmaster perk. It is an important perk for any build in KCD 2.

However, finding the ram is not a difficult task at all. Go to the quest marker and look around for a bit, and you won’t miss it. But we have talked about the wolves already. So before you start guiding the ram back to the camp, defeat as many wolves as you can and clear out the forest as much as possible. Henry’s stamina will be an essential factor in this quest since you will have to deal with several enemies at once. So we suggest that you bring Buck’s Blood potion with you before going into the forest.

Take the Ram Back to Stanislav

Once the wolves are defeated, escort the ram back to Stanislav. If at any point in time the ram stops, interact with it and it will start following you again. This quest can easily get annoying at times because the ram will wander off whenever it wishes to, and it will happen multiple times. Keep interacting with it because if the ram goes headfirst into a pack of wolves, you will fail the objective.

You will also sometimes have to push the ram back in the right direction. If the ram refuses to follow, use the Run Away option, and Henry will say that wolves are coming, which will scare the ram. It can be quite funny at times.

Now simply guide the ram safely back to Stanislav. Speak to him, and he will be happy and grateful to you. He will then give you the following as payment:

Rewards

  • 12 Groschen
  • Cheap Wine
  • Weak Marigold Decoction
  • 2 Bandages
  • 2 Dried Apples
  • Cooked Carrot
  • Lucky Die

Conclusion

So that is the end of the KCD 2 Carrot On A Stick quest. It is safe to say that the mission is named quite appropriately. Additionally, if you enjoyed your trip with the stubborn but charming ram, you can check out our other KCD 2 guides here.
