Larian Studios Fixes PlayStation Save File for Baldur’s Gate 3
If you’ve been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on the Playstation and having issues with Error 544 and save files, Larian Studios has just announced that they’ve released a patch to fix the problem. It appears that Error 544 was a specific pop-up error which was generated by Baldur’s Gate 3. This occurred when players would attempt to save their progress. However, the game had been creating invisible save files as the players progressed, which over time obviously began to take up hard drive space.
The new patch Larian has released will now force the invisible files to become visible. Therefore, players will now be able to see and delete all of the unintended saves. If you took a break from Baldur’s Gate 3 around the holidays you may not have yet encountered this issues, as it has been most prevalent on Playstation in December and into January.
Larian has suggested the following steps in order to get your Baldur’s Gate 3 game running correctly with the new patch:
- Update your game with the new patch
- Navigate to ‘Load Game’ on the game menu
- Review old saves that may have been invisible
- Delete these old save files
- Launch your main game save
The developers also encourage any players who have further issues to create a support ticket, where Larian’s tech support can address your question directly. It will obviously take some time on the part of the player to manually go through all of the save files and delete all of the ones not needed. However, once complete the new patch should keep this from being a problem again.
