Leaks of Acer and MSI gaming laptops have revealed RTX 5060 & RTX 5050 GPUs. Here are the expected release date and specs!

Early listings of upcoming gaming laptops powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell RTX 50 Series graphics cards have revealed that RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 GPUs are potentially coming out soon. The leak originated from Acer’s Hong Kong website and French online retailer PC21, where product listings revealed two upcoming MSI laptops.
Do note that these leaks are preliminary listings, and any information you see here is not officially confirmed by the brands. Still, these give us great insights into the exciting RTX laptops coming out in 2025.
Leaked Specifications of RTX 5050 & RTX 5060 Laptop GPUs

Acer’s upcoming Predator Helios 16S AI was accidentally revealed early. This upcoming 2025 model is suggested to be powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 7 255HX processor, paired with 16GB DDR5 6400MHz memory and a 16-inch OLED 2K HDR display.
Speaking of graphics, it is suggested that this laptop will come with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card with 8GB GDDR7 memory. With this in mind, the memory bandwidth for this model is expected to be 128-bit, and under the hood, its graphics processor could be a GB207/GB206 graphics processor.

MSI’s VenturePro 16 laptops were also leaked in early product listings. These gaming laptops are suggested to come with Core Ultra 7 240H processors and 2K OLED 120Hz displays. Additionally, they also feature 16GB (8×2) DDR5 RAM.
We got a glimpse into the upcoming RTX 5050 GPU here, revealing it could come with 8GB GDDR7 memory as well. This is somewhat surprising, as the desktop GPUs were speculated earlier to have GDDR6 memory instead, and the same memory type was expected on laptops. But now, the new leak suggests the laptop version of the RTX 5050 may have faster memory. This is especially true when compared to the desktop GPU.
The upcoming RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 GPUs will offer many upgrades over previous-generation laptops. This provides higher performance and newer features. Of course, the new generation GPUs will also bring better power efficiency. Features like DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation on lower-end GPUs could prove to be very useful. However, let’s hope there is a good performance uplift compared to the previous generation RTX 40 Series.
Expected Release Date of RTX 5050 & RTX 5060 Laptops
The leak from Acer suggests that its RTX 5060 laptop will come out in early May. So, perhaps expect two to three months from now as a tentative release date for these new laptops. It is known that certain GPUs with the RTX 50 Series were found to have problems with missing ROPs. This resulted in affecting a small batch of GPUs produced. Rumors suggest these problems were affecting the release date of RTX 50 Series laptops as well.
Should You Wait for RTX 50 Series Laptops?
Gamers looking for the best value-for-money laptops should wait for these new models to launch. With the new Blackwell architecture, these RTX 50 Series laptops will have many advantages over the previous generation.
With the expected support of DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation, gaming at higher graphics settings and frame rates will be possible even if the raw performance uplift is not that big. New features in these laptops will be super useful for entry-level gaming laptops.
So, now that you have all this information, what are your expectations for RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 laptops?
