In Minecraft, horses are tamable mobs. You can speed across the map, climb uphill, and jump higher on your trusty steed. Horses can be found in plains, savannas, and in villages with stables. However, breeding your own horses is the best way to go. There are 35 different appearance combinations a horse can come in, with seven colors and five types of markings being available.

Moreover, not all horses have the same speed, jump height, and health. When a horse spawns, these three stats are randomly generated. On the other hand, when a foal is bred, its stats will be within a certain range based on the parents’ stats. There is also a slight chance of the offspring having a better or worse stats set than its parents.

In this article, we’ll cover how to breed horses in Minecraft.

The process of breeding horses is quite straightforward. First, make sure both the horses involved in this process are tamed. After that, bring both the horses close to each other and feed each of them either a Golden Apple or a Golden Carrot. A flock of red hearts will go off above the horses as they come close, and soon a foal will appear.
