In this guide, we shall go over how to make Glass in Minecraft so you can use it to build premium-looking bases.
Minecraft puts player creativity front and center, allowing you to build whatever your mind can conjure up. The game also provides you with plenty of resources to do so, but you do have to go out into the wild to scavenge for them. Glass is one of the best building blocks in the game, allowing your creations to have a premium and classy feel. It can be dyed and stained to have different colors and can then be used to decorate your base. Glass is also used to build windows for your base, allowing you to strategize better should a mob surround you.
In addition to its base-related uses, Glass is also used to build Beacons, Glass Bottles, and much more. Glass’s versatility makes it one of the best items in the game and one you absolutely need to have. If you’re looking to make Glass and don’t know where to begin, our guide should help. In this guide, we shall go over how to make Glass in Minecraft.
How To Make Glass
Glass in Minecraft, much like its real-life counterpart, is made using Sand. Hence, you first need to go out and find Sand in the wild. Sand is most commonly found near the water bodies in the game. Go to any place next to the water, and you will see large blocks of Sand around it. Pull out a shovel and start hitting the Sand to collect it.
Once you have the Sand, it’s time to make some Glass. Head over to any Furnace that you have made. If you don’t have one, you can make a Furnace using 8x Cobblestones at the crafting table. Place the Cobblestones at the edges of the crafting grid to make the Furnace.
Interact with the Furnace, and it will bring up a small menu with two boxes. Place some Coal inside the lower box and all your Sand blocks in the upper box. The Furnace will use the Coal to heat the Sand and produce Glass.
The crafting process may take a while, so be patient. If you wish to speed things up, we recommend setting up multiple Furnaces and then using Sand and Coal to produce Glass in chunks. You can also use a Blast Furnace for the same, as it churns out products much faster than the regular Furnace.
