These creatures were introduced to the game as part of the Armored Paws update in 2024, and the little animals have quickly won over fans.
These creatures are timid, often cowering within their armor if you approach too fast. If you wish to win them over and maybe help them breed, you have to give them something to eat. What Do Armadillos Eat?
So, what do Armadillos eat in Minecraft? The Armadillos eat Spider Eyes. The Spider Eyes, as the name suggests, are the eyes of a spider and can only be obtained by finding and killing a spider in Minecraft. Once you kill a spider, they drop the Spider Eyes, which are then added to your inventory.
Go through your inventory and equip the Spider Eyes in your hand. Now, approach the Armadillos, but do so carefully, as they’re soft, weak-hearted creatures who will hide in their shells if you scare them. If they get spooked and hide in their shells, just wait for them to pop back up. Once the creatures notice the Spider Eyes in your hands, they’ll follow you around as if you were the Pied Piper playing their flute.
Go ahead and press RMB to drop the Spider-Eyes, and the Armadillos will circle around the item to eat it. Wait for a few moments, and then the creatures will breed, popping out a mini version of themselves that will overwhelm you with its cuteness.
Where To Find Spiders
As stated earlier, you need to find spiders if you wish to get the Spider Eyes. Thankfully, the spiders are available almost everywhere in the game, especially at night. If you can’t seem to find them, try your luck in a cave where you’re sure to find them in numbers.
When fighting a spider, make sure to walk backwards as you do so. The spiders hone in on you and lunge at the first chance they get. Keep moving backward and strike to kill them and get the Spider Eyes.
