What Does Smite Do in Minecraft?
Well, as the item label suggests, Smite is an Enchantment Book that helps you enchant weapons such as the axe and sword in Minecraft. Enchantments in Minecraft grant extra abilities or alter existing abilities of weapons and items in the game. The Smite enchantment, when applied to a sword or axe, grants you additional damage against the undead mobs in the game. The undead mobs in Minecraft include the following enemies:
- Chicken Jockey
- Husk
- Drowned
- Zombie
- Phantom
- Skeleton
- Skeleton Horse
- Stray
- Spider Jockey
- Skeleton Horseman
- Stray
- Wither
- Zoglin
- Wither Skeleton
- Zombie Villager
- Zombie Horse
- Zombified Piglin
With the Smite enchantment, you can shred through these enemies like a hot knife through butter. The enchantment comes in varying levels, going from level 1 to 5, with the damage boost increasing with each level.
How To Use Smite in Minecraft?
To use Smite to enchant a weapon of your choice, you need to place your anvil. You can do so by selecting the anvil from your inventory, holding it in your hand, and then pressing RMB to place the item. Interact with the anvil to bring up a small menu. Here, you can combine two items to get a third item.
In the first item slot, select the weapon you wish to enchant. You can only use Smite to enchant swords and axes, so keep that in mind. Next, for the second slot, select the Smite enchantment you wish to apply. We recommend going for the enchantment with the highest level. Once both items are in their slots, you will then obtain the enchanted weapon, which will let you run through the undead.
