Everything you need to know about the Ballet in the Rain Event quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, including its requirements, rewards, and more.

The Ballet in the Rain is the latest Event quest in Monster Hunter Wilds and one that pits you against a Tempered Lala Barina. Although this Event quest doesn’t come with any unique cosmetic reward, a la Like a Fire Hidden by Sand, it’s still a quest that you don’t want to miss out on. The Ballet in the Rain is a purpose-built quest by Capcom to help players obtain some of the best early-High Rank Decorations for their weapons.
Much like last week’s Tongue-Tied Event, this quest is meant to be an easier way for players to farm Decorations, outside of Wyvern Melding and Investigations. Furthermore, the quest also comes with a rather generous Zenny payout.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Ballet in the Rain Event quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, its requirements, how to complete it, rewards, and more.
Requirements for Ballet in the Rain Event Quest in Monster Hunter Wilds

To start the Ballet in the Rain Event quest, you need to have reached Hunter Rank (HR) 21 and above. This means you need to complete the Low Rank main story quests and reach High Rank. Furthermore, you also need to complete the High Rank main story quest — Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns. Completing Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns unlocks the Hunter Rank threshold till HR 21. Once you hit HR 21, you can simply talk to Alma, and select the Ballet in the Rain quest from the Events tab. Do note that the Ballet in the Rain quest requires you to hunt a Tempered Lala Barina, which is significantly tougher and meaner than the regular Lala Barina.
To summarise, here are the requirements for the Ballet in the Rain Event quest:
- Complete Low Rank.
- Reach High Rank and progress the main story quests.
- Complete High Rank till Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns.
- Reach Hunter Rank (HR) 21.
Much like other in-game Events in Monster Hunter Wilds, the Ballet in the Rain quest will be live for a limited duration. The quest is available till March 25, 2025, after which, it will be switched by a different Event.
Tips To Easily Complete Ballet in the Rain Event Quest

Defeating the Tempered Lala Barina isn’t particularly difficult. However, since it’s a Tempered Monster, it does deal a ton of damage with each of its attacks. And without ample Defense, and a properly crafted build, you might find the Temnoceran somewhat challenging. Thankfully, the Tempered variant of Lala Barina shares similar vulnerabilities as its regular counterpart.
In fact, with the right skills, the Tempered Lala Barina becomes much easier to manage compared to regular Lala Barina. In terms of elemental weaknesses, Tempered Lala Barina is weak to Fireblight. However, the biggest weakness of the monster is its tendency to flinch rather easily.
Lala Barina can be easily staggered upon landing a successful finisher or a charged attack. Most importantly, the Temnoceran gets easily toppled upon destroying two or more successive wounds. In the case of Tempered Lala Barina, with just one point of Flayer, you can constantly create regular and tempered wounds on the monster and destroy them to topple it. Once toppled, Lala Barina is left vulnerable to attacks for a rather long duration, which is enough to even land a full TCS combo.
The best weapons to defeat Tempered Lala Barina are:
- Great Sword
- Hammer
- Long Sword
- Switch Axe
- Dual Blades
- Hunting Horn
- Heavy Bowgun
Rewards for Completing Ballet in the Rain Event Quest

The Ballet in the Rain Event quest is the best way to farm Weapon Decorations, which are otherwise obtained via Investigations or Wyvern Melding. Apart from Weapon Decorations, the quest also offers a good amount of Zenny. Here’s everything you get upon completing the Event quest:
- 15120 Zenny
- Lala Barina parts
- Weapon Decorations
