In Oblivion Remastered, the Mephala Quest is a Daedric quest associated with the Mephala Shrine. Completing it will provide you with a powerful longsword with special enchantments. The quest features an interesting storyline where you manipulate two families into turning against each other. It requires stealth skills to avoid being caught.

How To Start Mephala Quest in Oblivion Remastered
To begin the Mephala Quest, go to the Mephala Shrine, located north of the Imperial City. As it is a Daedric shrine, you must fulfill certain requirements to activate it:
- Reach Level 15
- Provide Nightshade as an offering
You can find Nightshade in Cyrodiil. If you prefer not to search in the wild, purchase it from the Imperial City Market. Once you meet both requirements, activate the shrine to receive instructions about the quest.
Objectives of the Mephala Quest in Oblivion Remastered
The shrine will task you with using deceit to manipulate two families into killing each other. The families involved are the Dunmer and the Nord in Bleaker’s Way, located northwest of the Mephala Shrine. The objectives are as follows:
- Collect items to plant
- Killing both leaders and planting evidence
- Informing the family member
Collect Items To Plant
You need to collect one item from each family. Head to the north of the village and locate Nivan Dalvilu’s house. Enter and collect the Dalvilu Ceremonial Dagger. Then, go to Hrol Ulfgar’s house and take the Ulfgar Family Ring.
Killing Both Leaders and Planting Evidence
To complete this objective, wait until midnight and enter Dalvilu’s house. Kill Nivan Dalvilu and plant the Ulfgar Family Ring on the corpse. Then, go to Hrol Ulfgar’s house. He will likely be asleep on the first floor. Eliminate him and place the dagger on his body.
Informing the Family Member
After eliminating both family leaders and planting the required items, the next step is to inform the family members. Go to Bleaker’s Way Goodwill Inn and locate Kirsten. After informing her about the incident, exit the inn. A fight will soon break out between the families.
How To Collect the Ebony Blade in Oblivion Remastered
Once all objectives are completed, return to Mephala’s Shrine and interact with it. You will receive a one-handed longsword called the Ebony Blade as a reward. The blade includes the following enchantments:
- Silence on Strike for 10 Seconds
- Absorb Health on Strike for 8 Points
