The “Beloved Buddies” event is here! If you love strengthening bonds with your Pokemon, now is the time to take advantage of exciting bonuses, special spawns, and a brand-new Pokemon debut. This guide will help you make the most of the event, so let’s get started!

Event Schedule

The event begins on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. and runs until Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

New Pokemon Debut: Dhelmise

Dhelmise, the Sea Creeper Pokemon, is making its first appearance in Pokemon GO. You can find it in three-star raids, so be ready to battle and add this ghostly anchor to your collection.

Wild Pokemon Encounters

Certain Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild. You have a greater chance of encountering Shiny Diglett and Shiny Dunsparce. Common spawns include Nidoran♀, Nidoran♂, Slowpoke, Shellder, Remoraid, Mantine, Plusle, Minun, Volbeat, Illumise, Cutiefly, and Fomantis. If luck is on your side, you might even find a Shiny version of some of these Pokemon.

Raid Battles

Various Pokemon will be featured in raids. In one-star raids, you can battle Shellder, Dwebble, and Skrelp, with the possibility of finding a Shiny version of Shellder and Skrelp. Three-star raids will include Slowbro, Hippowdon, and Dhelmise. Five-star raids will feature Enamorus (Incarnate Forme). Mega Raids will showcase Mega Tyranitar, and you might find a Shiny one.

Catching Pokemon will grant double XP. Lure Modules will last one hour instead of 30 minutes. If you catch Diglett, Slowpoke, Shellder, Dunsparce, Cutiefly, or Fomantis, you will receive 500 extra Stardust.

Field Research Tasks & Rewards

Special research tasks will be available at PokéStops. Completing these tasks can earn you Stardust and encounters with event Pokemon. Catching two Pokemon will grant 200 Stardust. Trading a Pokemon will reward you with an encounter with Tandemaus. Winning a raid will give you 1,500 Stardust.

Completing Collection Challenges will reward you with Stardust and Great Balls. In Challenge 1, catching Cutiefly and Fomantis will earn you 15 Great Balls and 3,000 Stardust. In Challenge 2, catching Shellder and Slowpoke will provide the same rewards. Challenge 3 requires catching Diglett and Dunsparce to earn 15 Great Balls and 3,000 Stardust.

PokeStop Showcases

Event-themed showcases will appear at select PokéStops, where you can enter your best Pokemon for a chance to win.

Regional Pokemon Opportunity

This event provides a rare chance to catch Volbeat or Illumise, which are usually exclusive to specific regions. Keep an eye out for them while they are available.
