REPO Mic Not Working Error: Are There Any Fixes?

The mic not working error in REPO is getting more and more common as new updates drop. Here are a few potential fixes for it.

If your mic is not working in REPO while you are playing with your friends, it takes away a lot of fun from the experience. The game is supposed to be a co-op horror adventure where you collect scrap items from haunted areas to earn money. The voice chat is exactly what makes everything so chaotic and fun.

However, players have been increasingly reporting an issue with the mic. So, let’s discuss possible fixes. There can be various reasons for this error on your system, and we will try to cover as many of them as possible.

NOTE: There is no “official” fix to this trouble yet because the team hasn’t responded to the recurring bug. So, the potential fixes we have found may or may not work for you.

How To Try Fixing REPO Mic Not Working

Cross-Checking Microphone Settings

If you are having trouble with your microphone, you can try tweaking certain changes to your audio input device. Follow the steps given below for the same on Windows:

• Open Settings, go to Sound, and then Input.
• Select your microphone under Input Device.
• Select Device Properties and make sure the volume is increased to 100%. Now. Test your microphone by scrolling down and if the bar moves when you speak, you are good to go.
• Restart REPO and check if this worked for you.

REPO Mic Allowance

If your computer hasn’t already given access to REPO, you will benefit by following the steps given below:

• Head to the Settings and then Privacy & Security.
• Now, turn on “Allow apps to access your microphone” if it was off before.
• Whether you turned it on now or it was turned on by default, scroll down and ensure that REPO (or your game client) has microphone permissions.
• Restart REPO and see if it worked.

Audio Input Difference

You could also be using the wrong mic for audio input. If so, the following steps will help you troubleshoot your problems:

• Launch REPO Settings and head to the Audio section.

• Select the microphone you are using under Input Device. Also, enable voice chat if not done already.

• If you are using Push-to-Talk, don’t forget to test your keybind.

• In case the Push-to-Talk feature is frozen, simply select Open Mic Mode, restart the game, and test voice chat again. Now, if you wish to go back to the previous settings, just bind a new key to Push-to-Talk again.

Lastly, if none of this works, try turning off the VPN if you usually have it on, and you can even try allowing access through your firewall. To do so, simply open the Windows Defender Firewall, allow REPO through the firewall, and make sure both the Private and Public boxes are checked. If none of these work, reach out to any official forums and online REPO communities for its players.
