RuneScape Dragonwilds: How To Use a Rune Altar

Magic is a critical ability for your character in RuneScape Dragonwilds. You’ll have an array of spells that you can use against enemies or to even do mundane things, such as chopping down trees. However, before you can take your sorcery skills for a ride, you’ll need to craft some runes.

Runes are absolutely integral to all kinds of magical abilities you have in the game. You’ll need a Rune Altar to start crafting your favorite runes in the game. In this guide, we’ll explain how you can build the Rune Altar in RuneScape Dragonwilds. We’ll also guide you on how you can use the altar to produce runes.

How To Build a Rune Altar in RuneScape Dragonwilds

To build a rune altar, you’ll first need to collect a couple of resources. Making the Rune Altar requires you to gather 12x Stone and 4x Rune Essence. You can gather Rune Essence by spotting locations around the game world where a strange blue mist emanates from the ground itself. These places also have floating rocks. When you see such a location, head toward the blue mist. You’ll discover Rune Essence rocks lying around nearby. You can use your pickaxe to mine these rocks. As you do so, you will get Rune Essence in your inventory.

When you have collected the necessary Rune Essence and Stones, pick out a place on the map where you want to build the Rune Altar. Once you’re there, open the Build Menu (default key: B). Go to the Crafting tab and select the Rune Altar. You will then need to choose where you want to place it before finally setting it down.

How To Use the Rune Altar in RuneScape Dragonwilds

After placing the Rune Altar, you can simply interact with it to open the rune crafting menu. You will need one Rune Essence to craft up to 10 different runes. Even though there are various kinds of runes available, they won’t be available to you from the start. Instead, you’ll need to unlock them by gaining higher Runecrafting levels.

The following are the level requirements for the different rune types that you can craft.

• Air Runes: Level 1
• Astral Runes: Level 1
• Earth Runes: Level 11
• Fire Runes: Level 13
• Law Runes: Level 16
• Nature Runes: Level 19

So, at first, you can only craft Air and Astral runes using the Rune Altar. Make sure whichever rune you craft, you keep a steady supply of them in your inventory at all times. You can easily run through and exhaust your supply of runes in a matter of seconds.
