Nvidia’s DLSS Frame Generation promises to increase Wuchang Fallen Feathers’ frame rates by 2-4x, but should you use it? Is it any good?

Wuchang Fallen Feathers, released on July 24, 2025, features full support for DLSS 4, including Multi-Frame Generation technology. Nvidia’s latest blog also showcases that Frame Generation in DLSS 4 can double, triple, or even quadruple the game’s frame rates. This sounds like a great feature for users with 120Hz, 180Hz, or even higher refresh rate monitors.
While it may sound like a great technology, which it is, in a way, I do not recommend DLSS Frame Generation for Wuchang Fallen Feathers. In this article, I’ll explain why I do not recommend using DLSS Frame Generation in Wuchang. Read on to learn more.

How Does DLSS Frame Generation Work?

When you run Wuchang or any other title, your GPU renders frames of the game’s world. The graphics card then sends the frames to your monitor to display an image or play a video. Movies typically play at 24 frames per second (FPS), while games generally run at 30 or 60 FPS. The latter feels smoother than the former. Similarly, gaming at 120 FPS or higher will feel even smoother.
However, you will find it incredibly difficult to reach even 100 FPS in a demanding title like Wuchang Fallen Feathers. This is where DLSS Frame Generation technology comes in. It inserts an AI-generated frame between every two real frames produced by your GPU. Essentially, if your GPU produces 60 real frames, the game will run at 120 FPS, thanks to the extra frames produced by Frame Generation.
While it may sound and look good on the screen, the feel and playability aspects suffer. That’s because inserting an AI-generated frame between every two real frames takes some time, which means there’s a higher latency involved. Latency is best described as the time it takes to display what you press on your keyboard, mouse, or controller.
When you press a key on your keyboard, your PC takes a few milliseconds to display the action associated with that key. If you activate Frame Generation, this latency increases. Therefore, every action on screen will be delayed by a few milliseconds from the moment you press a key. For context, gaming at lower latency will feel better, especially if you play with a mouse and keyboard.
Why You Should Not Enable DLSS Frame Gen in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

Wuchang Fallen Feathers is a souls-like game whose core focus is on combat, which requires fast action hits and instant dodges to defeat its powerful bosses. The DLSS Frame Gen’s added latency will increase input delay and mess up your parry, dodge, and attack timings. This will make the already hard game even harder. Therefore, we do not recommend using DLSS Frame Generation in Wuchang Fallen Feathers or other titles like it.
