The Conductor is a boss fight in Split Fiction, which is very similar to an arcade shooter. Here’s how you can defeat it.

Split Fiction has many boss fights, with each having you fight them in unique ways. One boss named The Conductor can be fought in the Train Heist side story of the Hopes of Spring chapter. The side story can be found in the Lord Evergreen mission of this chapter.
Play through the whole side mission till you reach the section where both players have to ride on spaceships. This is where the game turns into a bullet hell arcade shooter similar to Galaga. You have to dodge projectiles and collect power-ups to shoot at The Conductor to defeat it.
This guide will tell you all about the boss and how you can defeat The Conductor in Split Fiction.

First Phase of The Conductor in Split Fiction

When you start The Conductor fight, both players can only fly in cardinal and diagonal directions. There is also a boost button to help you speed out of projectiles way. Both players also get a shield, which, when broken, makes you vulnerable.
Any hit taken during this state results in death, and you need to wait for respawn. Both players dying at the same time results in defeat, in which case you are returned to the beginning of the fight.
The Conductor uses a variety of attacks, which we will go through to help you be prepared for them. The attack that the boss mainly uses is shooting slow-moving projectiles in a set pattern. Stick to the left side of the screen and through the space between the projectiles to dodge them. Keep shooting at The Conductor while dodging.
Bullet Effects
Soon, you get a voice line from one of the characters about using power-ups. These come in the form of glowing orbs falling from the top left part of the screen. The player who touches the power-ups temporarily obtains a special bullet effect from the ones listed below:
- Multi-Shot: You shoot a barrage of bullets that cover the whole section in front of you.
- Unibeam: You shoot a large beam of laser in front of you that deals massive damage on contact.
- Homing Shots: Your bullets automatically home in on The Conductor.
More Boss Attacks
In this first phase, the boss can do a few more types of attacks that you need to be careful of. There is one where it shoots very slow rotating orbs that have four lasers coming out from it. The Conductor shoots them while moving up and down the screen. Try to fit in the gaps of the lasers and stay on the left side of the screen.
The next attack the boss can do is a charge attack, where it suddenly charges to the left side of the screen. All you can do is be ready to boost above or below so that the boss does not touch you.
The last attack it does in this phase is to move to the upper part of the screen and rain down bullets randomly. Move to the bottom of the screen, which gives you plenty of time to see where the projectiles move and dodge them.

Final Phase of The Conductor in Split Fiction

When you take the boss’s health down to 20%, it starts to move diagonally all over the screen while shooting projectiles at the players. You have to predict The Conductor’s movement and shoot at it whenever you can. Use the power-ups to your advantage and try to keep some distance from the boss to not get touched.
Once you defeat the boss and the side story, you are thrown into the main mission. This is the end of our boss guide for The Conductor in Split Fiction.
