In this article, we will walk you through the Pinball Lock Mission in the Isolation level of the new co-op adventure, Split Fiction.
Split Fiction throws the players into a world that hosts a mix of fantasy and science fiction elements. You and your buddy will play as Mio and Zoe. These two authors aspire to publish their works but get trapped in their own imaginations. Now, in Chapter 6, which is named Isolation, players will have to make their way through Mio’s science fiction creation.
However, this article will discuss only the Pinball Lock section of Isolation in Split Fiction. So, prepare yourself to solve some puzzles and play some old-school pinball games.
Pinball Lock Mission in Isolation
Usually, the different levels in Split Fiction combine platforming and puzzle-solving to provide players with an engaging experience. But in the Pinball Lock part, the focus is more on puzzles, and of course, it resolves around the classic pinball game.
In this section, Zoe will turn into a pinball, and Mio will be in control of the various flippers. There are a total of four puzzles that you will have to solve to reach a boss fight at the end of the level.
Puzzle 1
The first puzzle in this mission is quite simple: Simply launch Zoe through the passage directly above her, and she will reach the platform above.
Puzzle 2
Once you reach the second Pinball Lock puzzle, you will notice a platform is moving up and down. You must launch Zoe when that platform rises from the ground for her to reach the next area.
Puzzle 3
In the third puzzle, Mio and Zoe must work together. Your coordination and timing will be crucial in this area, so read the following instructions carefully.
First, Mio will have to open both of the flippers for Zoe. Then, the moment Zoe jumps through the gap, Mio must close the flippers to protect her companion from falling down. Then, use your magnetic powers to make your way toward the last puzzle.
Puzzle 4
After the third puzzle, you will have to do a little bit of platforming, but eventually, you will reach the fourth and the last puzzle of the Pinball Lock level. There will be many obstacles, and if you hit any of them, Zoe will die instantly. This part depends entirely on your coordination and timing with your companion, so there isn’t a lot of instruction we can give you.
However, we can tell you that Mio will have to use every spring precisely because Zoe will need to reach different latitudes to go through all the gaps in each section. Once Mio launches Zoe in the air, she must control the pinball’s movement carefully and try not to hit any of the traps while making her way to the next spring. When you list the last spring, launch the pinball up in the air, but this time, use the flipper to catch Zoe.
Pinbawser Boss Battle Phase 1
You will meet the Pinbawser shortly after you have made your way through all the puzzles. Then it will proceed to destroy everything in its path while you, as Zoe, try to race your way to a safe place. During this chase, you will find yourself in areas with a chainsaw hanging above various times. When that happens, utilize Zoe’s magnetic powers and bring the boss down away from its body and move it to one of the flippers. Then, as Mio, you can launch the boss straight into the chainsaw.
Phase 2
After that first chainsaw arena, you will soon encounter another. Follow the same pattern we mentioned earlier. Make Zoe bring the boss down so Mio can shoot the chainsaw. Once you reach the last battle arena, Mio won’t be able to throw the boss straight to the chainsaw. She can only throw it to a platform close to it. So, after that, Zoe will have to do the heavy lifting. Reach the platform the Boss is in as Zoe, and then smash it into the chainsaw. Keep in mind that you will have to do this process twice.
Once you have done so, a short cutscene will trigger, and the boss battle will be over, marking the end of the Pinball Lock mission of the Isolation chapter in Split fiction.
