Follow this guide to get a complete overview of Cave of Desperation Dungeon in Throne and Liberty and the tips to complete the dungeon.
Throne and Liberty have several co-op dungeons to test your strength and teamwork. Completing them rewards a massive loot. The Cave of Desperation is an underground dungeon in Throne and Liberty. The entry level of the dungeon is restricted to above 40, and the minimum combat power is set to 1200. This dungeon is considered the easier version of the Cave of Destruction Dungeon.
Let’s take a look at some of the things you need to know before entering Cave of Desperation Dungeon.
Throne and Liberty Cave of Desperation Dungeon Guide
The underground Cave of Desperation starts with waves of enemies in the first area. Defeating them is not a big task; once defeated, get to the next area.
The Ant Larvae in the area will spawn various types of enemies when triggered. Defeat the enemies and the Ant Larvae. You need to be careful with the green exploding ants, as they will explode when they approach you. Once done with all of them, the first boss will spawn.
First Boss – Mutant Princess Ant
The Mutant Princess Ant, the first mini-boss of the dungeon, has several mechanics to watch out for. The boss deploys Exploding Larvae on the players, which they can remove by transferring them to other players by walking towards them. The Mutant Princess Ant also spawns some Ant Larvae in the arena after shouting. You can stop them from spawning by using hard crowd-control moves. Players should also be careful about the cone-shaped AoE attack of the Mutant Princess Ant.
Once the first boss is defeated, enter the next area to face the second boss.
Second Boss – Mutant Giant Acid Ant
You need to destroy some ants and destroy a giant egg to make the second boss spawn in the arena.
Destroy the poison sacs that you find in the middle of the area. Then, defeat all the enemies that spawn in the area, including the Soldier Ant, which uses Fury Attack.
Once this wave is defeated, a Giant Egg will spawn in the middle of the room, tied with three Poison Worker Ants. Destroy the Giant Egg and kill the Poison Worker Ants to spawn the second boss.
The Mutant Giant Acid Ant, the second mini-boss of the dungeon, follows some mechanisms you need to check out. The boss often creates poison puddles in the area, which deals AoE damage on contact so try to avoid approaching them. After a headbutt, the boss will perform a special Fury Attack, that will only have a very narrow response time. So, you need to react fast to block the attack, or else you will be pulled by the boss along the poison puddle.
Once the boss is defeated, enter the next area to spawn the final boss of the dungeon.
How to Beat Lacune
Lacune is the final boss of the Underground Cave of Desperation Dungeon. The boss has several mechanics; if you get the hang of it, then fighting Lacune becomes handy. During the fight, paralyzing ants will enter the arena. You should take them out first, otherwise, it will paralyze and poison the players.
The attack patterns of Lacune are as follows:
- Lacune will perform Fury attacks often on players, targeting those who are facing its front and dealing damage.
- A red circle will appear on the ground when Lacune shouts. Players need to stand on these circles, as it will lift them upwards and give them a temporary buff. If you stay on the ground level, you will get damaged by the red blast AoE of the Lacune. You can also stand on three other platforms in the arena, but you will not get buffs from them.
- Once the health goes below 50%, Lacune will launch Exploding Larvae on players similar to the first mini-boss Mutant Princess Ant. You have to follow the same tactics again, such as moving toward other players to remove the Larvae.
After the red blast AoE attack, a Gem Ant will spawn on one of the three platforms. Quickly move to that platform and kill the Gem Ant.
Take notes of these attack patterns and mechanisms to defeat Lacune and complete the Cave of Desperation dungeon.
