Read this guide to learn the ins and outs of the Island of Terror Dungeon in Throne and Liberty and how to complete it.
Co-Op Dungeons in Throne and Liberty is the best way to get high-quality rewards. Completing them is difficult and requires a lot of effort, but the rewards are worth the challenge. The Island of Terror is a level 50 Tier 2 (Dimensional Circle ++) Co-Op dungeon. This Dungeon works similarly to the Tyrant Isle Dungeon. However, the Island of Terror is far more difficult and is considered to be one of the hardest Dungeons in Throne and Liberty so far.
How to Complete Island of Terror Dungeon in Throne and Liberty?
You need to defeat 3 mini-bosss in the Island of Terror Dungeon to face the final boss Kertaki.
Once you enter the Dungeon, head through your way by defeating the general enemies to encounter the first mini-boss, Infuriated Reptilian Butcher.
Infuriated Reptilian Butcher
Infuriated Reptilian Butcher is the first mini-boss you will face in the dungeon. The boss does not pose a huge threat and will be taken out easily. One of the mechanisms you need to be careful about is the Boss’s Invisibility which is similar to the Tyrant Isle version.
Infuriated Reptilian Executioner
Make your way through the dungeon by taking out several mobs to face the second mini-boss, Infuriated Reptilian Executioner. You need to be careful with the boss’s line-based attack that damages everyone in the line. The boss deals damage to the players by jumping on them. The Reptilian Executioner launches waves towards the players when he teleports to the gate or corners of the area.
After defeating the mini-boss, move on to the next area, and you will notice a geyser. Use it to reach the top of the cliff edge. After clearing some basic enemies, you will encounter the third mini-boss, Infuriated Reptilian Gladiator.
Infuriated Reptilian Gladiator
The third mini-boss, Infuriated Reptilian Gladiator acts similarly to the Tyrant Isle version, with some increased difficulty. The boss charges towards a targeted player twice to perform massive AoE damage, which hits all the players if connected. The only way to escape is to hide behind the totems in the arena. These totems will get destroyed with the boss’s attack and can never be used again.
Once done, make your way through the resurrection gate to face the final boss Kertaki.
How to Defeat Kertaki – Island of Terror Dungeon Final Boss
Kertaki, the final boss of Island of Terror Dungeon, is similar to Tyrant Isle’s Toublek, with the integration of additional mechanisms.
Attack Patterns
The following are the basic attack patterns of Kertaki:
- One of the basic attacks of Kertaki is launching four fireballs at the tank, which deals massive damage and stuns the player. Other players should use the cleanse skill on the tank to break stun; this allows them to block the following heavy attack.
- When pulsating with a purple color around the body, the boss will perform a spinning attack. You need to block this attack to prevent heavy damage.
- The boss will perform a fury attack on players. Its diamond-shaped purple indicator indicates that you have to do a moving block. Always initiate a counterattack followed by a block or moving block rather than a stationary block.
The Meteor Phase
The first major mechanic of the boss is The Meteor Phase. During the course of the battle, the boss will launch three meteors targeting the players. Dodge the meteors to avoid huge damage. Once the meteors fall on the ground, a blue flame spreads through the arena and creates smoke all over. Run into the blue flame to get burning debuff and use them to clear the smoke around all vents/geysers quickly, as you will need them in the later part.
Take out the baby lizards that spawn in the center of the arena.
One of the Geysers will become active. The boss will charge for a huge insta-kill AoE attack. Run towards the Geysers to launch up into the air to escape the AoE.
When it reaches below 50% health, Kertaki performs the AoE attack twice, and you need to run towards two active Geysers consecutively.
The Rat Phase
The second major mechanism of Kertaki is turning every player into a rat. During the battle, the boss pulls all the players to the center and transforms everyone into a rat. A yellow circle of orbs will spawn around the boss; don’t approach the yellow orbs as they will damage you. Try to stay near the boss and wait till he chooses the targets. The boss will randomly select the players and will eat them one by one and kill them. When the boss is trying to eat you, dig the ground at the right moment to escape. If all the players escape by digging, the boss will be stunned momentarily. Run towards the blue flowers to remove the rat curse and transform back to the original form.
When it reaches below 50% health, Kertaki turns invisible during the rat phase. You can still observe the shadow to find out the target of the boss.
Marking the Vents and the Blue flowers at the start of the battle adds an advantage to the players during the Meteor Phase and the Rat Phase. Take advantage of the battle by learning all these mechanisms and attack patterns of Kertaki.
