Rift Incursions in V Rising are end-game events that can provide you with many unique and powerful rewards. Here’s how to complete them.
As you progress through the endgame content of V Rising, you will find many activities to do. One such event is the Rift Incursions. These are portals to the Shadow Realm that are opened through dark rituals and blood sacrifices. Your goal is to face the army of Dracula and his monsters to farm Stygian Shards, which can help you gain many new passives that are useful in the late game.

Rift Incursions in V Rising
Firstly, build the Eye of Mortium, which can track when and where a Rift Incursion is happening in your world. You can build it after completing the Reign Supreme quest, which requires you to upgrade your Castle Heart to Level 3. Rift Incursions only occur in the Ruins of Mortium region, a place that is eternally shrouded in night.
The events usually take place in one of the many ruins on the western side of the region. As mentioned before, blood sacrifices are being done using blood crystals. Two small blood crystals are connected to a larger one in the middle. You have to destroy both the small crystals and then the large one. This requires you to simply kill the enemies near the crystals.
Crystals drop Stygian Shards when broken, so you must farm these quite often to unlock many skills. Once you destroy the final larger crystal, a copy of a random V Blood Carrier spawns from it. You must defeat this boss to end the Rift Incursion event in V Rising.
What boss appears depends on the tier of the event. There is a Tier 1, which is the easiest, as the recommended level to challenge one is only 57. However, the Tier 2 event is much harder, as the recommended level increases to 82. In Tier 2, not only do the enemies get stronger, but harder V Blood Carriers spawn as well. However, all this is worth it for the loot that you can obtain.

- Normal or Greater Stygian Shards
- Various tiers of Jewels
- Random blueprints
- Weapon or artifact shards of varying quality
- Increased Soul Shard durability
