Axe Disciplines in Wuchang Fallen Feathers help you block, deal massive damage, and even heal, one of the rarer mechanics in the game. For this reason, axes are the heavy weapons of the Dark Souls Trilogy. You hit, and you forget about it. Disciplines are skills that you can add to your weapons in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.

They essentially boost your weapon capabilities and have special attacks or status ailments linked to the weapons. These Disciplines are upgraded from the Impetus Repository tree, where minor upgrades and variations of these disciplines are available. Axes are generally the slower, but high-damage weapons that can stagger your enemies, while they cannot. Here are all the axe disciplines explained for those wielding the heavy.

All Axe Disciplines Explained

Block

This is the default Axe Discipline in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. The axe is the only weapon type in the game that can block enemy attacks. Every weapon starts with one discipline that stays the same till its maximum upgrade. The Block action has 50% damage reduction from enemy attacks.

However, enemies can still afflict status ailments. This discipline can be increased by upgrading the Impetus Repository skill tree. However, Wuchang Fallen Feathers is often played on its main dodging and deflecting mechanic, but you can always try the Block Discipline for a defensive build.

Block Variant-I Upgrade: Upgrading your Block will unlock the Block Variant-I, which provides less stamina usage on blocking attacks.

Earthshatter

This is an early Axe discipline that you can unlock through the Impetus Repository skill tree. It slams your axe into the ground while building resilience and damaging enemies in the area. You can build resilience through this skill with the use of a Skyborn Might charge. Skyborn Might charges help you cast spells and unique abilities in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. You can obtain these charges through a perfect dodge, where your pirate will shine a bit and drop a blue object.

Earthshatter Variant-I Upgrade: This upgrade makes enemies more vulnerable if they get hit with a Skyborn Might charge buffed Earthshatter.

Earthshatter Variant-II Upgrade: This variant lets you gain more resilience if you use Earthshatter with a Skyborn Might charge.

Whirlwind

Whirlwind is a series of attacks that will chain, hitting multiple enemies in the area and ending with a massive area attack. This discipline also deals more damage if you use it with a Skyborn Might charge. This move can be interrupted by elite and boss enemies. However, it also deals massive stagger damage to multiple enemies if it executes. Two available variants will help the skill overcome some of its weaknesses.

Whirlwind Variant-I Upgrade: Provides more resilience while executing Whirlwind, making enemies deal less poise damage while you are in your whirlwind move state.

Whirlwind Variant-II Upgrade: Provides Poise Break effect while using Whirlwind with a Skyborn Might charge with over 90% Madness on your character.

Rampage

Rampage is also similar to Whirlwind, but what makes it unique is its variants. It has one of the rarer mechanics in-game, healing. Using Variant I of Rampage allows you to heal after using the skill and damaging enemies for a short time. Rampage is focused on more solo enemy damage than an AOE, making its Skyborn Might charge very powerful against certain low HP bosses.

Rampage Variant-I Upgrade: Heals you when dealing melee damage to enemies after skill usage for a short while. One of the stronger and recommended variants of Wuchang Fallen Feathers. However, using Skyborn Might with this variant takes more charges.

Rampage Variant-II Upgrade: Strong against humanoid enemies, even knocking and inflicting vulnerability on them. The Skyborn Might charge will deal more damage and inflict more vulnerability.

Colossal Smash

This discipline is a slow and highly damaging smash that destroys almost any enemy that will not dodge it in the first place. During Colossal Smash, your character will hold the axe high and crash it down in front. However, using the discipline with the Skyborn Might charges will create a pool of red mercury on the ground (where the axe falls). This red mercury will inflict corruption, damaging enemies slowly.

Colossal Smash Variant-I Upgrade: In this variant, the red mercury will erupt into flames if it comes in contact with fire, damaging enemies with elemental damage. This variant can be used for elemental builds that use fire as their main source of damage. Requires Skyborn Might charges to create the red mercury pool.

Colossal Smash Variant-II Upgrade: This variant will create a larger pool of red mercury on the ground, letting enemies bathe in it.
